The onboard generator is a rapid charge generator that provides a direct current (DC) signal to provide a rapid charge to the battery while the light vehicle is either stationary or moving. The light vehicle may also be equipped with a vehicle management system that controls the charge and discharge of the battery. The vehicle management system may also monitor and control the operation of the on-board rapid charge generator and the electric motor.
