The apparatus includes a secure-file-identifier generating unit which creates the secure file identifier by generating a random number and combining the random number with a hash value corresponding to a rights object identifier of the file identifier list; a transmitting unit which transmits the secure file identifier to the storage device; and a receiving unit which receives a secure file identifier list for identifying the rights object from a storage device.

Abstract: A host device and a method of implementing Digital Rights Management (DRM) systems in a low-efficiency storage device are provided. The host device includes a plurality of DRM systems and a DRM system-shared interface module. The DRM systems provide pieces of DRM-related data and data identifiers (IDs) which identify the pieces of data. The DRM system-shared interface module adds DRM system IDs, which are used to identify the DRM systems, to the pieces of data and the data IDs, and provides results, which are obtained by adding the DRM system IDs, to a low-efficiency storage device.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for implementing a secure clock having no internal power source are disclosed. The apparatus accesses a host device having an internal power source and transmits and receives data. The apparatus includes a clock control unit, a counter, and a time information unit. The clock control unit performs control such that the time information of the host device is acquired and a counter value corresponding to the acquired time information is set, when the clock control unit is connected to the host device and is supplied with power from the host device. The counter changes the set counter value in steps of a predetermined value at regular time intervals while the power is supplied. The time information unit updates current time information to correspond to the changed counter value while the power is supplied.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for managing a plurality of certificates are provided. The apparatus for managing a plurality of certificates includes a plurality of certificates, a certificate search table, a low-performance file system, and a verification module. The certificate search table includes information about the plurality of certificates. The low-performance file system extracts a corresponding certificate from among the plurality of certificates that are received from a host device, with reference to the certificate search table based on a root certificate authority ID and information about a public key of a certificate of a certificate authority that issued the host device certificate. The verification module uses the extracted certificate to verify the host device certificate.

The apparatus for searching a rights object includes a transmitting/receiving unit which transmits at least one from a rights object identifier, content identifier list and a rights object to a portable storage device, and a searching unit which searches, from mapping information located in the portable storage device stored with the rights object identifier mapped with the content identifier from the content identifier list, the rights object identifier corresponding to the content identifier by using the content identifier as a search key, and retrieves the rights object stored in a rights slot corresponding to the searched rights object identifier.

Abstract: A method of measuring a similarity degree of digital video contents is provided as follows. Firstly, scene conversion of a video content is detected to divide the video content into a plurality of scenes. Then, a first scene feature is extracted from a first scene of the divided scenes. Thereafter, a similarity degree is measured by comparing the extracted first scene feature of the first scene with a second scene feature of a second scene. Thus, a similarity degree of digital video contents may be effectively measured, the digital video contents may be prevented from illegal sharing, and additional contents information related to the digital video contents may be provided when playing the digital video contents. Therefore, the method may be effectively used in contents management and contents circulation.

The apparatus includes a nonce generation unit which generates a nonce and a certificate verification request message that requests verification of a certificate on a target online device subject to authentication, wherein the certificate verification request message includes the generated nonce; a transmitting and receiving unit which transmits the certificate verification request to an online device and receives an online certificate status protocol (OCSP) response message from the online device; and a certificate verification result determination unit which extracts a nonce from the OCSP response and compares the extracted nonce with the nonce generated by the nonce generation unit to determine whether the OCSP response is reliable.

Abstract: The present invention provides a multi certificate revocation list (CRL) support method and apparatus for digital rights management (DRM). A multi CRM support method for DRM includes: receiving a first CRL and validating an issuer identification (ID) of the first CRL; loading a second CRL corresponding to the issuer ID and determining which of the first and second CRLs is the most updated CRL; and updating one of the first and second CRLs with the most updated CRL, based on a result of the determining.
