  • Patent number: 9419065
Abstract: An electronic device may be provided with an organic light-emitting diode display with minimized border regions. The border regions may be minimized by providing the display with bent edge portions having neutral plane adjustment features that facilitate bending of the bent edge portions while minimizing damage to the bent edge portions. The neutral plane adjustment features may include a modified backfilm layer of the display in which portions of the backfilm layer are removed in a bend region. A display device may include a substrate, a display panel on the substrate having display pixels, and peripheral circuitry proximate the display panel and configured to drive the display pixels. A portion of the periphery of the substrate may be bent substantially orthogonal to the display panel to reduce an apparent surface area of the display device. The bent portion may include an electrode for communication with the peripheral circuitry.

  • Publication number: 20150334611
Abstract: Disclosed are a system and a method for identifying a target DeNB cell for handing over to the target DeNB cell during an inband operation of 3GPP(3rd Generation Partnership Project) REL-12 mobile relay node. A donor DeNB combines two basic downlink backhaul subframe patterns on the basis of the basic downlink backhaul subframe patterns to configure a downlink backhaul subframe pattern corresponding to a backhaul link operated at the same frequency as that of an access link, and identifies the target donor DeNB cell for handing over on the basis of the downlink backhaul subframe.

  • Publication number: 20150268775
Abstract: An electronic device may have a flexible display with portions that can be bent. The display may include an array of display pixels in an active area. Contact pads may be formed in an inactive area of the display. Display circuitry in the active area may exhibit a given stack height, whereas display circuitry in the inactive area may exhibit a stack height that is less than the given stack height. In particular, the contact pads may be formed directly on a multi-buffer layer that sits directly on a flexible display substrate. Passivation material may be selectively formed only at the edges of the contact pad on the multi-buffer layer. The multi-buffer layer may be formed at a distance from the edge of the flexible display substrate to minimize cracking in the multi-buffer layer.

  • Patent number: 9128674
Abstract: Methods for controlling deformation of laminated display assemblies are described. The laminated display assemblies can include flexible layers. In some embodiments, the flexible layers are sensor layers. Methods involving the use of a thermal press and ultra violet (UV) curing procedure are described. In one embodiment, a thermal press method can be performed by placing a laminated display assembly including the flexible substrate, an ink layer, an adhesive, and a cover on a temperature controlled fixture. A mechanical press can apply pressure to the top of the laminated display assembly. The mechanical press can remove any planar deformity of the flexible layer and can redistribute portions of the adhesive. Following the mechanical pressing, the laminated display assembly can be exposed to UV light to cure the adhesive and thereby fix in place the planar state of the laminated display assembly.

  • Patent number: 8848596
Abstract: Embodiments for providing a method of controlling timing of a downlink backhaul sub-frame and a relay system for the same are disclosed. According to the present invention, a control signal is transmitted to user equipment during a control symbol period of a sub-frame and a data starting point of the sub-frame is set after a time (SG1) for switching from a transmission mode to a reception mode to receive backhaul data of a base station during a backhaul symbol period. Timing of a transmission sub-frame and a reception sub-frame is delayed by the SG1. A sum of a length of the SG1 and a time (SG2) for switching from the reception mode to the transmission mode is shorter than a length of a symbol having a normal CP. At this time, the lengths of the SG1 and the SG2 are identical to each other or the length of the SG2 is shorter than the length of the SG1. In such a case, the backhaul data are received up to a last symbol period of backhaul symbols of the reception sub-frame.

  • Patent number: 8689741
Abstract: The present invention features a thermal management system for a hybrid electric vehicle. Such a system includes a heater core supplies heat for heating the vehicle's interior by heat exchange between a coolant and air of the vehicle's interior, a coolant line fluidly coupling an engine and heater core so the coolant being circulated by a coolant pump passes there through. A bypass valve is located in the coolant line in proximity to the engine and is selectively opened and closed according to the on/off state of the engine and so that the coolant does not pass through the engine but passes through only the heater core in the engine off state. Such a system includes a heat exchanger fluidly coupled to another heat source so the coolant is heated by the heat exchanger and supplied to the heater core when in the off state.

  • Patent number: 7652989
Abstract: In the adaptive connection admission control method of the present invention, a corresponding ingress edge node performs connection admission control for a new connection within the amount of bandwidth initially allocated to each of paths between the ingress and egress edge nodes. The amount of remaining bandwidth allocated to a specific path Pr is compared with an amount of bandwidth required for a call requesting new connection setup input to the corresponding ingress edge node. The amount of additional bandwidth to be requested from the bandwidth broker is predicted when the amount of the remaining bandwidth does not satisfy the amount of bandwidth required for the connection setup requesting call. The ingress edge node requests additional bandwidth from the bandwidth broker on the basis of the predicted amount of the additional bandwidth, changing bandwidth information of the corresponding path Pr, and performing connection admission control.
