The co-grafting of ventral midbrain-derived astrocytes and dopamine neural progenitor cells (neural stem cells) improves the survival and differentiation of dopamine neurons and thus dramatically improves therapeutic outcomes in a neurodegenerative disorder including Parkinson's disease.
