  • Patent number: 11463795
Abstract: A method for adjusting sound (e.g., aural) output of a worn audio device includes obtaining orientation or position data that indicates an orientation or a position of the worn audio device. The method also includes determining at least one change in the orientation or position data indicating a change in orientation or position of the worn audio device. The method also includes adjusting or selecting a filter for adjusting aural output produced by the worn audio device using the orientation or position data, and operating the worn audio device to provide the sound output using the filter in response to the at least one change in the orientation or position data.

  • Patent number: 10976543
Abstract: A method for generating an individualized audio output response for a headset based on images of a user's ear. An image of a portion of a user's head including at least the user's ear is received, the user in the image wearing a headset including a plurality of visual markers. One or more features describing the user's ear are identified based at least in part on a position of one of the plurality of visual markers relative to the user's ear that are used to disambiguate orientation and/or scale of the features in the image. The one or more features are input to a model, and the model is configured to determine an audio output response of the user based on the extracted one or more features. An individualized audio output response is generated for the user based on the audio output response, the individualized audio output response configured to adjust one or more acoustic parameters of audio content provided to the user by the headset.

  • Patent number: 10880667
Abstract: A method for generating an individualized audio output response for a headset based on a representation of a user's ear. One or more images of a portion of a user's head including at least the user's ear are received. A representation of the user's ear is generated based in part on the one or more images. A simulation of sound propagation from an audio source to the user's ear is performed based on the representation. An individualized audio output response is generated for the user based on the simulation, the individualized audio output response configured to adjust one or more acoustic parameters of audio content provided to the user by the headset.

  • Patent number: 10823960
Abstract: A method for generating an individualized audio output response for a headset using a machine learning model. One or more images of a portion of a user's head including at least the user's ear are received. One or more features describing the user's ear are identified based on the one or more images. The features are input to a model, and the model is configured to determine an audio output response for the user based on the identified one or more features. The audio output response describes one or more acoustic parameters perceived by the user. An individualized audio output response is generated for the user based on the audio output response, the individualized audio output response configured to adjust one or more acoustic parameters of audio content provided to the user by the headset.

  • Patent number: 9812114
Abstract: A method may include adaptively generating an anti-noise signal for countering the effects of ambient audio sounds at an acoustic output of the transducer by adapting a response of an adaptive filter that filters a reference microphone signal in conformity with an error microphone signal and the reference microphone signal to minimize the ambient audio sounds in the error microphone, generating a scaled anti-noise signal by applying a scaling factor to the anti-noise signal, further adjusting the response of the adaptive filter independent of a source audio signal by altering an input to the coefficient control block of the adaptive filter to compensate for the scaling factor, and combining the scaled anti-noise signal with the source audio signal to generate an audio signal provided to the transducer.
