Abstract: A portable electronic apparatus includes: a box-type case having an opening at its rear face and upper face; a circuit board having a receiving portion and an engaging hole formed adjacent to the receiving portion, the circuit board being installed inside the case; a keyboard unit positioned at an upper surface of the case; and a connector having a front face with a plug inserting portion, a side face having a fixing piece and a lower face, wherein the lower face of the connector penetrates the receiving portion and is fixed at the circuit board, and the plug inserting portion of the connector faces the opening. Since the connector is positioned penetrating the receiving portion formed at the circuit board, the connector may be positioned at about the middle position of the connector, to make the whole product thin.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a joint structure of a core layer and a skin layer for manufacturing a partial foaming part having a polyurethane foam layer formed between the core layer and the skin layer. A recess is formed on the core layer corresponding to the joint of the core layer and the skin layer. The recess includes at the inside thereof a guiding wall for the skin layer and a pressing wall. A bent portion and a resilient supporting portion are formed in the end portion of the skin layer to be inserted inside the recess. The bent portion is bent upwardly so as to contact the guiding wall. The resilient supporting portion is resiliently supported underneath the pressing wall.

Abstract: An additional information processing apparatus and method selectively processes and stores additional information contained in a TV broadcast signal according to specifications set by a user, subdivides information of the type of additional information received in real time, and displays the information on a screen. Additional information contained in a broadcast signal is classified by type before transmission. Only additional information of the type(s) desired by a user is selected and acquired from the received additional information. The type(s) of additional information acquired is (are) displayed on a screen in real time. Accordingly, only the additional information needed by the user is selectively stored in memory and memory can be efficiently used. Since the type(s) of additional information received is (are) displayed on the screen in detail, the user can easily understand the type(s) of additional information being received currently so that the additional information can be effectively used.

Abstract: In an apparatus and method for processing a data broadcast signal, additional information contained in a TV broadcast signal can be easily selected and acquired without a time limit by using a still picture. Additional information corresponding to the still picture from additional information transmitted in real time with a moving picture broadcast program is processed, and the additional information is stored, together with still picture information matched with the additional information, so that an object of the additional information included in the moving picture or a picture swiftly changing can be accurately selected from the still picture without a time limit. As a result, additional information corresponding to the selected object is easily acquired. In addition, additional information can be easily searched using still pictures corresponding to additional information stored in a memory.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a high strength light-weight ceramic insulator and a method for manufacture thereof wherein the light-weight ceramic insulator may be used at a high temperature by using a heat-resisting ceramic fiber. A colloidal silica or colloidal alumina which is an inorganic binder, and a methyl cellulose or a liquid-phase organic polymer which is an organic binder are added to an alumina-silica-based fiber containing zirconia, a concentration thereof is adjusted, a slurry is vacuum-molded, and drying and heating are carried out, thereby fabricating the ceramic insulator. Here, it is possible to fabricate the high strength light-weight ceramic insulator by artificially selectively positioning the inorganic binder to a contact point of the fibers.

Abstract: An audio/video (A/V) system and function-extending modules therefor are provided. The A/V system has a module rack, in which the function-extending modules are detachably inserted, and a base module. Each of the function-extending module sends and receives A/V data and stores control information for controlling itself. The base module receives the control information from the function-extending modules mounted in the module rack and displays the control information. If a user input according to the displayed control information is received, the base module sends the user input to a corresponding function-extending module and reproduces source A/V data provided by the function-extending module in response to the sent user input. By doing so, the A/V system in which a plurality of digital media is implemented is provided.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for selecting a program of a digital multichannel television. The method includes the steps of checking whether numeral keys for designating a radio frequency (RF) channel, a distinction key, and numeral keys for designating a program received through the RF channel are successively pressed; if the numeral keys for designating the RF channel, distinction key, and numeral keys for designating the program received through the RF channel are successively pressed, selecting the RF channel corresponding to the numeral keys before the distinction key; arranging digital multichannel television broadcasting programs received through the selected RF channel in the order of their unique numbers; sequentially assigning reference numbers to the arranged programs; and selectively outputting a program to which the reference number corresponding to the numeral keys after the distinction key is assigned.
