  • Publication number: 20060045049
Abstract: A method for performing a handoff between a wireless local area network (LAN) including an access router (AR) supporting an Internet protocol (IP) routing function and a mobile communication network including a packet data service node (PDSN) connected to a base station system (BSS), for supporting the IP routing function. An access terminal (AT) detects its movement from the wireless LAN to the mobile communication network, and exchanges information for tunneling between the AR and the PDSN, with the PDSN. The PDSN sets up a tunnel for packet delivery between the PDSN and the AR, and delivers packets to the AT through the set tunnel.

  • Publication number: 20060023683
Abstract: A handoff system and method is provided for performing handoff from a mobile communication network, including a packet data service node (PDSN) connected to a base station system (BSS) for supporting an Internet protocol (IP) routing function, to a wireless local area network (LAN) including an access router (AR) supporting the IP routing function. An access terminal (AT) detects its movement to the wireless LAN and exchanges information with the AR for tunneling between the PDSN and the AR. The AR sets up a tunnel for packet delivery between the AR and the PDSN, and delivers packets delivered from a correspondent node (CN) to the AT via the set tunnel.

  • Publication number: 20060002355
Abstract: A method and system for providing a handoff between a mobile communication network including a mobile switching center (MSC) and a home location register (HLR), and a wireless local area network (WLAN) including an access point (AP) and a voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) gateway to provide a VoIP service. The HLR registers therein subscriber information for the MT including an Internet protocol (IP) address of the AP. The MT transmits a handoff request to the MSC if the MT connected to the mobile communication network has moved to a region of the WLAN. The HLR transmits the subscriber information to the VoIP gateway. The AP allocates an IP address and a channel for WLAN access by the MT, and sets a session for a VoIP service of the MT.

  • Publication number: 20050063329
Abstract: A data push service system and method using a heterogeneous network. The system transmits push data to a Hybrid Access Terminal (HAT) in a heterogeneous mobile communication system in which at least one circuit network overlaps with at least one packet network. The HAT can be connected to a circuit network or a packet network, and is registered in a new access network. The system includes a Packet Service & Mobility Gateway (PSMG) for acquiring access state and connection information of the HAT from the circuit network and the packet network, and generating an access network switching request upon receipt of an external request signal; and a Push Proxy Gateway (PPG) for acquiring access information of the HAT which will transmit the push data from the PSMG, and transmitting a request message to the PSMG.

  • Publication number: 20050040042
Abstract: A method and device for electronically controlling the spatial location of charged molecules is described. The method disclosed pertains to controlling the spatial location of charged molecules in a reaction unit wherein a plurality of electrodes are placed, wherein the geometry of electrode placement is closed system such as circular, rectangular or diamond-shape. This control extends to the selective isolation of individual species of charged molecules as well as their transport. The invention is useful in molecular biological reactions, such as nucleic acid hybridizations, nucleic acid amplification, sample preparation, antibody/antigen reactions, clinical diagnostics, and biopolymer synthesis.

  • Publication number: 20040264370
Abstract: A congestion control method and system in a communication system that transmits and receives a data segment using Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and performs a Fast Retransmit mode and a Fast Recovery mode upon occurrence of a lost segment. A transmission terminal retransmits the lost segment to a reception terminal and then calculates the expected number of duplicate acknowledgements (ACKs) expected to be received from the reception terminal. The transmission terminal determines whether an ACK recently received from the reception terminal is identical to a new ACK or a duplicate ACK. The transmission terminal accumulates the received duplicate ACK, and compares the number of the accumulated duplicate ACKs with the expected number of the duplicate ACKs. The transmission terminal retransmits the lost segment to the reception terminal if the number of the accumulated duplicate ACKs is larger than the expected number of the duplicate ACKs.

  • Patent number: 6501824
Abstract: An X-ray mask is integrated with a micro-actuator. The X-ray mask includes a mask portion, a mask holder portion, at least one elasticized supporter and a micro-actuator unit. The mask portion has a thin shuttle mass and an X-ray absorber attached on the shuttle mass. The mask holder portion is formed around the mask portion with a predetermined distance maintained therebetween. The elasticized supporter connects the mask portion and the mask holder portion elastically. The micro-actuator unit is prepared between the mask portion and the mask holder portion to precisely control a position of the mask portion when a voltage is applied.
