  • Patent number: 7757521
Abstract: A washing and drying machine includes a drying duct having at least one inlet end and at least two outlet ends. Consequently, air flow is increased, and drying time and power consumption are reduced. The inlet end is connected to the center portion of the circumferential surface of a tub, and the outlet ends include a front outlet end connected to the front side of the tub and a rear outlet end connected to the rear side of the tub. Consequently, the laundry is uniformly dried even when the laundry is placed in the drum at the front and/or the rear sides of the drum, and therefore, damage to the laundry is prevented. Flow resistance is minimized, and drying time and power consumption are reduced.

  • Patent number: 7707672
Abstract: Disclosed are a method for controlling a driving of a drum type washing machine preventing vibration and noise of a drum, reducing a usage of washing water, and reducing rinse time, and an apparatus thereof. To this end, the drum is rotated with a preset equilibrium speed faster than a speed that vibration of the drum is excessively generated accordingly as a rotation speed of the drum is decreased when a dewatering process of laundry is completed, and washing water is supplied into the drum type washing machine while maintaining the drum as the preset equilibrium speed.

  • Patent number: 7634925
Abstract: A washing and drying machine that is capable of performing heat exchange between outside air introduced into a cabinet and the circumferential surface of a tub so as to condense air used to dry laundry. No cooling water is used to condense air used to dry the laundry. Consumption of water is reduced, and therefore, the maintenance costs of the washing and drying machine are decreased. Furthermore, no condensing duct is necessary. Consequently, flow resistance is decreased, and drying efficiency is improved. In addition, sufficient space is provided between the rear surface of the tub and the cabinet. Consequently, the volume of the drum is increased, and the washing/drying capacity of the washing and drying machine is increased.

  • Patent number: 7589442
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a motor and a washing machine with the same mounted therein. The motor includes a rotor cup having cooling-holes and lower blades formed at the bottom part thereof. The cooling-holes and lower blades are arranged such that each of the cooling-holes and lower blades is at a prescribed angle to the radial direction of the rotor cup so that the volume of blown air is increased, and thus a blowing force is also increased. The rotor cup is provided at the lower part of the circumference thereof with vents for allowing the air introduced into the inside of the rotor cup to be discharged to the outside therethrough. The rotor is provided at the upper side thereof with backward type upper blades so that the upper part of the motor is separately cooled, whereby cooling efficiency of the motor is improved.

  • Patent number: 7325422
Abstract: In a washing method of a drum type washing machine, a large amount of the laundry can be more effectively washed by effectively transmitting a mechanical force to the laundry by repeatedly and forcedly rotating a drum forward (or clockwise) or backward (or counterclockwise) for a short predetermined time. Through continuous rotation of the drum of the drum type washing machine, a falling washing is performed such that the laundry in the drum is washed by falling by a gravity, or a reversing washing is performed such that the laundry is washed by repeatedly rotating the drum forward (or clockwise) or backward (or counterclockwise) for a short predetermined time, thereby improving energy efficiency through economizing a washing time and washing water according to the amount of the laundry, and also preventing a waste of power by driving a heater at a proper time.
