According to one embodiment, the apparatus for estimating blood pressure may include: a first sensor configured to obtain a pulse wave signal of a green wavelength from an object when the object is in contact with the first sensor; a second sensor configured to measure an external force applied to the second sensor while the first sensor is obtaining the pulse wave signal; and a processor configured to obtain an oscillometric envelope based on a direct current (DC) component of the pulse wave signal of the green wavelength and the external force, and estimate the blood pressure using the oscillometric envelope.
