Abstract: An interworking system among a number of distributed virtual worlds and a method for the same. The virtual world object includes an object having a URL address and a universal content ID (UCI), and an object managed via a DB without the above-mentioned URL address or UCI. As the use of a distributed object ID that uniquely and universally identifies various objects with the same format enables interworking and sharing among a number of virtual worlds, the open virtual world can be implemented easily and efficiently. That is, various pieces of object information can be shared among different kinds of distributed virtual worlds in the open virtual world. The open virtual world also provides an application service via interworking, such as the free movement of an avatar from one world to another virtual world, and the exchange of information between avatars that belong to different virtual worlds.

Abstract: Location information sharing method based on wired and wireless internet using a location identification (ID). Converting a location ID entered in the content of documents through Internet terminals into a URL, which provides location ID related services to the Internet terminal. Searching a desired location information from one of plural location information servers by using the location ID, wherein the general web server connects with one of plural location information servers by using the location ID through the domain name management server and request the connected location information server to search a location information corresponding to the location ID. Transmitting the location information including a coordinate value searched corresponding to the location ID from the location information server to the wired or wireless terminal requesting the location information.

Abstract: A method and a system for registering and searching for user's location information stored at the distributed location information domain servers using user's position IDs are provided. The system includes a location information domain manager terminal, a location information domain manager terminal, a location information domain management server having a location information domain management database, a plurality of location information domain servers each of which has a location of information database storing the user's location information (coordinate), a plurality of general domain servers and a plurality of user terminals, which are connected through the Internet, to thereby register the user's location information (coordinate) at each location information domain server and, if required, search for the user's location information through the domain server with which a user terminal connects.

Abstract: An apparatus for decoding variable length codes utilizing a parallel processing based on a code classification wherein an address determining logic receives output data from a barrel shifter, determines addresses by groups according to the received data, classifies and designates addresses of a decoder look-up table by groups according to the addresses determined by groups. As a result, a high processing speed can be obtained, over the conventional serial processing system. Moreover, no code deformation is required as in Lukacs system. The memory capacity of the decoder look-up table can be reduced, as compared with the conventional parallel processing method. In addition, the present invention can be applied to decoding of all variable length codes having a prefix structure.
