  • Patent number: 7908701
Abstract: An adjustable scrubbing implement for cleaning a surface is disclosed. A resilient base that comprises a center portion and a plurality of resilient fingers each is joined at a proximal end thereof to the center portion and extends radially away therefrom. The rigid cap comprises a side portion fixed at a top end thereof to an inside upper side of the cap, and terminates at a wider open lower end. The inside upper side includes a central aperture therethrough. The cap includes a handle receiving means pivotally fixed thereto for receiving a threaded end of an elongated handle. An adjustment means interposed between the cap and the resilient base moves the center portion of the base relative to the inside upper side of the cap. The downward angle of the fingers are defined by the relative distance between the center portion of the base and the inside upper side of the cap.

  • Patent number: 7448106
Abstract: A motorized scrubbing implement for cleaning a surface with contours is disclosed. The scrubbing implement includes a resilient base that includes a plurality of resilient fingers, each of which extend radially away from center of the base. A rigid cap comprises an inside upper end and a wider open lower end. The cap preferably includes a handle receiving means pivotally fixed to the cap for receiving a threaded end of an elongated handle. A flexible pad is included that comprises a cleaning surface on a lower side thereof. The pad has a peripheral lip forming an aperture in the pad for receiving the distal ends of each finger of the base. A rotational scrubbing surface driven by a motor projects through a central aperture in the pad.

  • Patent number: 5721877
Abstract: A method and apparatus for limiting access to a nonvolatile memory device by inserting access limiting circuitry between CPU generated read and write command signals being sent to the nonvolatile memory device and the nonvolatile memory device itself such that write commands can be received and executed by the nonvolatile memory device only when the CPU is in a System Management Mode, and such that read commands for protected addresses can be received and executed by the nonvolatile memory device only when the CPU is in the System Management Mode, but is still able receive and executed read commands for non-protected addresses regardless of the mode of the CPU. This feature can also be provided for the write command. The access limiting circuitry is therefore capable of preventing a virus program, or a malfunctioning operating system, from undesirably altering data in the nonvolatile memory device since the operating system is preempted when the CPU is in the System Management Mode.

  • Patent number: 5471695
Abstract: A motorized brush imparts vibrational motion to a scrubbing brush head. The brush includes a water-tight housing, in which a small electric motor is mounted. The motor includes an eccentric weight mounted to its drive shaft. In use, the motor is energized, causing the eccentric weight to be rotated. The eccentric weight vibrates the brush head without rotating it. This vibrational motion provides an effective scrubbing action without the necessity for complex sealing mechanisms connecting the brush head to the motor shaft.
