  • Patent number: 11837018
Abstract: Aspects of the invention provide a method of face recognition that includes receiving plural frames of a video stream imaging a candidate individual, e.g., in the field of view of a camera, and generating for each of those frames a score of the image and/or of the candidate therein. This can include a score (or count) indicative of the number of individuals present in the frame, a pose of the candidate individual (e.g., face-on or otherwise), blur in the image, and so forth. The method further includes selecting, based on the respective scores of the frames, a subset of the frames for matching by a face recognizer against a set of one or more images of designated individuals. That set may be of individuals approved for access, individuals to be prevented for access, or otherwise. An output can be generated based on such matching by the face recognizer.

  • Patent number: 11495052
Abstract: A system uses facial recognition to exclude persons of interest (e.g., “undesirables”) from events and/or venues. Such a system can include a combination of cameras, edge processing devices, and servers that are in communications coupling (e.g., via a network) and that are on premise and/or in the cloud to recognize such persons of interest (POI) and interdict and prevent such POI from entering, traversing, and/or attending (collectively, “entering”) such venues or events.

  • Patent number: 9996854
Abstract: The invention provides in some aspects a system for display of context-aware content that includes a server storing context-sensitive data, a player that is persistently or, at least intermittently, coupled to the server, and that is likewise coupled to a plurality of output devices—such as, for example, electronic shelf labels, personal digital assistants, mobile phones, and LCD, LED or other fixed displays. The player responds to the context of each of the plurality of output devices by obtaining from the server data germane to that context, storing that data or content germane to that context generated from that data, and driving that content to that output device for presentation thereon, wherein the player concurrently drives different content to at least two of said output devices.

  • Publication number: 20040165006
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for an interactive media display utilize a screen that presents a content item to a viewer. The display of the content item is interactive, in that a user may remotely control the content presented on the screen, requesting or changing the displayed content item or in some way controlling the outcome of the content of the screen. The system is device agnostic, in that it operates with a wide variety of user devices, such as mobile phones, personal digital assistants (PDAs) equipped for wireless data access, or other mobile devices. In addition to its device-agnostic capabilities, the present invention is display-agnostic, utilizing, for example, cathode ray tube displays, liquid crystal displays, plasma displays, organic light-emitting diode displays, electronic ink displays, and projection screen displays. In another aspect, the present invention provides methods and apparatus for the generation of an interactive media display.

  • Publication number: 20040117378
Abstract: Information from publicly accessible information sources, such as electronic public displays, billboards, signs, and kiosks, is captured by a user device, obviating the need for individuals to make a mental note or write down the details from such sources. A publicly accessible information source having data items and a visible display is provided, the visible display presenting at least one data item. Upon viewing the display, an individual sends query data to the publicly accessible information source. Alternatively, upon the user's own pre-programming of his/her needs/requirements, the user device automatically queries various public displays for matching content. In response to the query data, the publicly accessible information source sends further data items to a user device. The source is capable of simultaneously servicing requests from a plurality of users in the vicinity of the source.
