  • Publication number: 20190042843
Abstract: An apparatus for augmented reality (AR) or virtual reality (VR) computing may comprise an interface to receive data associated with a plurality of signal emitters (e.g., light sources) or a plurality of signal receivers (e.g., photosensors) associated with a cable connecting a head mounted device (HMD) to a client device. The apparatus may further include a cable visualization engine coupled to the interface to present or cause to present a visualization of the cable in an AR or VR environment provided to the HMD by the client device. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

  • Publication number: 20180284894
Abstract: Systems and techniques for directional haptics for immersive virtual reality are described herein. A first audio signal may be received on a first audio channel and a second audio signal may be received on a second audio channel. A set of haptic actuators may be identified. A first subset of the set of haptic actuators may be grouped into a first audio channel group corresponding to the first audio channel and a second subset of the set of haptic actuators may be grouped into a second audio channel group corresponding to the second audio channel. The first audio signal may be transmitted to the first audio channel group and the second audio signal may be transmitted to the second audio channel group.

  • Publication number: 20170344107
Abstract: A mechanism is described for facilitating automatic view adjustment for computing devices based on interpupillary distance associated with users according to one embodiment. A method of embodiments, as described herein, includes facilitating sensors to detect a user within proximity of the apparatus such that eyes of the user face lenses of a computing device, and measuring a first distance between a first sensor and a second sensor of the sensors. The method further include measuring a second distance between a first pupil of a first eye of the eyes and a second pupil of a second eye of the eyes of the user, and adjusting a first lens or a second lens of the lenses to match the second distance with the first distance.
