Patent number: 11942013Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for improving the color uniformity of a display of a display device. A plurality of images of the display are captured using an image capture device. The plurality of images are captured in a color space, with each image corresponding to one of a plurality of color channels. A global white balance is performed to the plurality of images to obtain a plurality of normalized images. A local white balance is performed to the plurality of normalized images to obtain a plurality of correction matrices. Performing the local white balance includes defining a set of weighting factors based on a figure of merit and computing a plurality of weighted images based on the plurality of normalized images and the set of weighting factors. The plurality of correction matrices are computed based on the plurality of weighted images.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 2021Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: Magic Leap, Inc.Inventors: Kevin Messer, Miller Harry Schuck, III, Nicholas Ihle Morley, Po-Kang Huang, Nukul Sanjay Shah, Marshall Charles Capps, Robert Blake Taylor

Publication number: 20220309708Abstract: A method and/or system for automated estimation of 3D orientation of a physical asset using deep learning models and computer vision algorithms, according to one or more embodiments. The system may be configured to receive images of the physical asset and camera orientation data as input, use deep learning neural network models to isolate the physical assets across the images, track each physical asset instance throughout the images and derive a 3D point cloud model of each asset by projecting binary masks of the asset contours from different view-points. The 3D point cloud model is further processed and supplemented with camera orientation data to estimate the 3D orientation of one or more assets present in the images.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 4, 2021Publication date: September 29, 2022Inventors: Ujwal Bhate, Ninad Jayant Kulkarni, Mohammedshadab Mohammedaslam Shaikh, Arnab Chakravarty, Pratyush Choubey, Neeraj Kumar Gulia, Jigar Sanjay Shah

Publication number: 20210215536Abstract: A method for characterizing a digital color camera includes, for each of three primary colors used in a field sequential color virtual image, determining a conversion model for each color using RGB values and the color-measurement values. For each primary color, the method includes illuminating a display device using an input light beam of a primary color having spectral properties representative of a light beam in a virtual image in a wearable device. The method includes capturing, with the digital color camera, an image of the display device, and determining, from the image, RGB values for each primary color. The method includes capturing, with a color-measurement device, a color-measurement value associated with each corresponding primary color at the display device, thereby acquiring a color-measurement value in an absolute color space. A conversion model for each color is determined using RGB values and the color-measurement values.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 21, 2021Publication date: July 15, 2021Applicant: Magic Leap, Inc.Inventors: Miller Harry Schuck, III, Lei Zhang, Etienne Gregoire Grossmann, Nukul Sanjay Shah, Ohad Zohar, Robert Zito, Nicholas Ihle Morley, Jason Schaefer, Zhiheng Jia, Eric C. Patent number: 9430608Abstract: Computer implemented techniques are disclosed for fixing signal hold-time violations in semiconductor chips. Analysis includes estimation of hold-time requirements using ideal clocks. Allocation of placement regions within the design and near the macro circuits allows for later placement and wiring use during layout hold-time fixing. The placement region sizes are based on estimates of the needed buffers. Nets, within the design for detail routing, are ordered such that nets with hold-time violations are wired later, thus fixing hold-time violations without scaling or adding further buffers. Hold times are re-evaluated once wiring of track routes is complete.Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 2015Date of Patent: August 30, 2016Assignee: Synopsys, Inc.Inventors: Karthik Ramaseshan Kalpat, Rohit Kumar, Narendra Nimmagadda, Saumil Sanjay Shah, Hsiao-Ping Tseng
