  • Patent number: 10699135
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are described for generating geometries for stripe-shaped objects. An image is identified that includes a roadway having one or more stripe-shaped objects. The stripe-shaped objects may include lane lines for road edges or lanes of the roadway. The stripe-shaped objects may include a barrier. At least one targeted region within the image is determined. The at least one targeted region is shaped to intersect the one or more stripe-shaped objects and includes a plurality of pixels. An image analysis is performed on the image to determine when the at least one target region includes a pixel in common with the one or more stripe-shaped objects. A geometry is constructed using the pixel in common. The geometry may be used to update a map or subsequently perform localization.

  • Publication number: 20150046259
Abstract: Systems and methods for personalized orchestration of business information are provided. Responsive to a request, personalized curation information for an identified end user may be accessed and may include geo-relevant graph information, collection information specifying collection characteristics corresponding to collections associated with the identified end user, and/or window information specifying window characteristics corresponding to business participants in a listing directory service and having been previously associated with the identified end user consequent to indications of end-user interest. A set of business information related to the one or more business participants may be accessed, may include business listing information, and may be windowed as a function of the window information.

  • Patent number: 8866469
Abstract: Several systems and methods for monitoring the proximity of a device to a power line are disclosed. Electric field monitoring systems are mounted to the device and include a plurality of electric field sensors and a monitoring system base unit. Each electric field monitoring sensor senses the strength of a magnetic field in which the sensor is positioned and transmits a corresponding magnitude output signal to the base unit when polled by the base unit. If a sensor reports a magnetic field exceeding a threshold, the frequency of polling for that sensor may be increased. If a sensor reports a magnetic field exceeding another (possibly identical) threshold, an alarm may be activated, movement of the device may be limited or stopped or another action or a combination of actions may be taken.

  • Publication number: 20070185864
Abstract: Methods and apparatus assessing, ranking, organizing, and presenting search results associated with a user's current work context are disclosed. The system disclosed assesses, ranks, organizes and presents search results against a user's current work context by comparing statistical and heuristic models of the search results to a statistical and heuristic model of the user's current work context. In this manner, search results are assessed, ranked, organized, and/or presented with the benefit of attributes of the user's current work context that are predictive of relevance, such as words in a user's document (e.g., web page or word processing document) that may not have been included in the search query. In addition, search results from multiple search engines are combined into an organization scheme that best reflects the user's current task. As a result, lists of search results from different search engines can be more usefully presented to the user.

  • Patent number: 6443424
Abstract: A clutch arm centering device is disclosed. The device is mounted on a clutch using to operate piston valves on a crane or other heavy machine. The piston valves may be operated using a valve arm which has two operative positions and a neutral position between the two operative positions. A clutch arm of the clutch is linked to valve arm to allow the valve arm to be manipulated by a remote control coupled to the clutch. As parts of the linkage between the clutch arm and the valve arm wear, the centering device biases the clutch arm to a central position which corresponds to the neutral position of the valve arm, thereby avoiding problems of understroking and overstroking which arise in the prior art.
