Abstract: A multi-ply absorbent sheet includes at least a first and second ply bonded together. In one construction, the first and second ply are provided with from about 90% by weight to about 25% by weight pulp-derived papermaking fiber and from about 10% to about 75% by weight fibrillated regenerated cellulosic microfiber having a characteristic CSF value of less than 175 ml; the sheet having a caliper of from 180-250 mils/8 sheets and exhibiting a wipe-dry time of less than 20 seconds, an SAT capacity in the range of 350-500 g/m2, an SAT rate in the range of 0.05-0.25 g/s0.5, a CD wet tensile in the range of 400-2500 g/3? and a wet/dry CD tensile ratio of from 35% to 60%. The multi-ply sheets are efficient, high capacity wipers and have enough absorbent capacity to be used as ordinary paper towels. Preferred wiper towel products exhibit a differential pore volume for pores under 5 microns in diameter of at least about 75 mm3/g/micron.

Abstract: A cleaning wipe includes a dry substrate comprising nonwoven synthetic fibers, wherein the fibers have a fineness of about 2.3 denier to about 3.3 denier; and a nonionic surfactant disposed on the dry substrate, wherein the surfactant is present on the dry substrate at an add-on level of about 0.1 weight percent to about 1.5 weight percent, based on the weight of the dry substrate, and wherein the cleaning wipe is active disinfectant stable.

Abstract: A cleaning system having pulverulent foaming cleanser (e.g., acid, alkali metal carbonate and surfactant) is sealed within a water soluble (e.g., PVOH) deformable pouch frictionally retainable within the core of a roll of bath tissue. Upon placement of the pouch in the bowl, water in the bowl penetrates the water soluble wall of the pouch, generating foam which provides cleaning action by activating and carrying cleansing chemicals, not only below the water line of the bowl, but also considerably above it. When used routinely with each change of bath tissue roll, such a cleaning can extend the time between required manual cleanings considerably.
