Abstract: High-Yield mammalian transient expression systems can include a cell culture media (particularly serum free, non animal derived, and/or chemically defined media) for introducing macromolecules and compounds (e.g., nucleic acid molecules) into cells (e.g., eukaryotic cells). Cells containing such introduced materials can then be cultured in the cell culture media. In particular, the invention allows introduction of nucleic acid molecules (e.g., vectors) into cells (particularly mammalian cells) and expression of proteins encoded by the nucleic acid molecules in the cells. The invention obviates the need to change the cell culture medium each time a different procedure is performed with the cells (e.g., culturing cells vs. transfecting cells). The invention also relates to compositions and kits useful for culturing and transforming/transfecting cells.

Abstract: The claimed subject matter provides a system and method for automatic allocation of tenants to database services. An exemplary method comprises determining a query plan based on a workload for each tenant. A distance metric is created based on the query plan for each tenant, and tenants are clustered based on the distance metric into a predetermined number of clusters which is equal to the predetermined number of databases.

Abstract: The invention provides a process for preparing stable, high API content, solid pharmaceutical dosage forms by direct compression or dry granulation, characterized in that the pharmaceutical tablets rapidly disintegrate in water or other aqueous solutions to produce a clear or almost clear solution. Also provided is a pharmaceutical carglumic acid tablet, which has improved manufacturing, dissolution, and stability properties, and is less expensive to produce, compared to the equivalent commercial product.

Abstract: Generally, an illustrative system for optimizing an advertising campaign on a mobile device includes a graphic user interface for accessing by at least one of a carrier and an advertiser, a data store, a campaign delivery engine for delivering advertisements into content provider spots and recording events into the data store, and an optimization engine. The optimization engine can support the graphic user interface and analyze one or more campaign events each linked with corresponding subscriber demographic data obtained from the data store for adjusting the advertising campaign during its run. The illustrative system can also support one or more methods disclosed herein.

Abstract: A method for providing access to objects associated with a particular client in a cloud storage system is disclosed. The method includes the steps of establishing a connection with a user, providing a client namespace associated with the client to the user, where the client namespace represents objects stored on the cloud storage system and objects stored on a private storage system apart from the cloud storage system, receiving a request from the user to access an object stored on the private storage system, and providing information to the user to facilitate access to the object stored on the private storage system by said user. Other systems and methods are also disclosed. Important advantages of the present invention are facilitated by separating the logic for user access (control plane) from the actual storage (Storage plane). Private file system access can still be managed from the cloud, while keeping the client data private.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for modifying a computational graph to include send and receive nodes. Communication between unique devices performing operations of different subgraphs of the computational graph can be handled efficiently by inserting send and receive nodes into each subgraph. When executed, the operations that these send and receive nodes represent may enable pairs of unique devices to conduct communication with each other in a self-sufficient manner. This shifts the burden of coordinating communication away from the backend, which affords the system that processes this computational graph representation the opportunity to perform one or more other processes while devices are executing subgraphs.

Abstract: Embodiments perform capability discovery, policy management, and policy enforcement to provide data in-flight (DIF) services to virtual machines (VMs) without requiring modification to established storage protocols. In exemplary embodiments, a management device receives advertisements of DIF services supported by network nodes. The management device groups the advertised DIF services into a DIF services policy. The management device associates a host and a communication path. The management device enforces the DIF services policy by storing a unique number that causes transmission of data along the communication path.

Abstract: Techniques for managing peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) for multi-carrier modulation in wireless communication systems. Different terminals in a multiple-access system may have different required transmit powers. The number of carriers to allocate to each terminal is made dependent on its required transmit power. Terminals with higher required transmit powers may be allocated fewer carriers (associated with smaller PAPR) to allow the power amplifier to operate at higher power levels. Terminals with lower required transmit powers may be allocated more carriers (associated with higher PAPR) since the power amplifier is operated at lower power levels. The specific carriers to assign to the terminals may also be determined by their transmit power levels to reduce out-of-band emissions. Terminals with higher required transmit powers may be assigned with carriers near the middle of the operating band, and terminals with lower required transmit powers may be assigned with carriers near the band edges.

The system includes a matching engine which compares the submitted data and assigns the trade a status depending on which of the data fields match. The system allows a user to filter trades on their status and display the details relating to that trade. The system also allows a user to display the data fields and change the data fields in order to change the status of the trades. The system thus allows a user to electronically confirm a trade and also identify unmatched trades and the information necessary to reconcile such unmatched trades.

Abstract: An electron energy loss spectrometer is described having a direct detection sensor, a high speed shutter and a sensor processor wherein the sensor processor combines images from individual sensor read-outs and converts a two dimensional image from said sensor into a one dimensional spectrum and wherein the one dimensional spectrum is output to a computer and operation of the high speed shutter is integrated with timing of imaging the sensor. The shutter is controlled to allow reduction in exposure of images corresponding to the individual sensor readouts. A plurality of images are exposed by imaging less than the full possible exposure and wherein the plurality of images are combined to form a composite image. The plurality of images can be comprised of images created by exposing the sensor for different exposure times.

In some embodiments, the absence of received packets is an absence of both voice and silence packets. In some embodiments, based on absence of a response to the first control packet, the UE is configured to drop the packet-switched call.
