  • Patent number: 10936774
Abstract: Integrated circuit failures caused by metastability related to assertion of asynchronous resets frequently escape detection before fabrication, causing design respins and severe economic loss. The numerous reset signals, flip-flops and complex logical interactions inherent in an integrated circuit cause an analysis for reset-metastability failures to be extremely noisy, reporting an unmanageable number of false failures and making early removal of failures impractical. Said noisy reporting arises because many flip-flops where reset-metastability manifests do not necessarily cause overall failure. An effective analysis of reset-metastability failures must identify all potential failures, but also must only report true failure potential. The present invention maximizes noise reduction by applying special conditions to identify flip-flops manifesting reset-metastability without causing integrated circuit failure, which can thereby be deemed safe.

  • Publication number: 20130055346
Abstract: An event-driven multi-factor authentication system for internet transactions is implemented in a communication system including a user platform operably connected to an application platform. In embodiments described herein, the application platform receives and evaluates event data associated with one or more online transactions of the user to identify occurrences of any triggering events; and upon occurrences of triggering events, identifies and issues one or more predefined authentication challenges corresponding to the triggering events. The triggering events may comprise, without limitation, amount-based events, time-based events or geography-based events. In such manner, for example, multi-factor authentications may be triggered for transactions having specified monetary amounts, amounts within a specified time period, or initiated from certain geographic locations.

  • Patent number: 8040875
Abstract: Caller ID information provided coincident to a Voice over IP (VoIP) call is validated by one or more network devices. An originating router detects an offered IP address associated with a calling party node, for example, upon receiving a SIP Invite message initiated by the calling party node. The originating router determines the validity of the offered IP address and hence determines the validity of the Caller ID information based on the validity of the offered IP address. The originating router sends indicia of the validity to a terminating router, connected to a called party node, by inserting a verification bit in the SIP Invite message and sending the transformed SIP Invite message to the terminating router. Alternatively, the terminating router may query the originating router for indicia of validity. Upon receiving the indicia of validity, the terminating router may notify the called party node and so inform the called party whether it can rely on the Caller ID information.

  • Publication number: 20100239083
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for restricting and remotely configuring call forwarding service in wireless or wireline communication systems. An originating switch receives a call request from a calling communication unit. The call request includes an indication that the caller does not want this call to be forwarded if the called communication unit has activated the call forwarding option. The call is routed to the directory number of the called communication unit, not the call forwarding number of the called communication unit.

  • Patent number: 7787825
Abstract: A wireless service provider recognizes a data transmission from a wireless user as a request to provision the mobile terminal and become a subscriber by an over the air process. An Internet protocol provisioning server automatically transmits a text-based message to be displayed on the user's equipment identifying information to be provided by the user for provisioning. In response the user transmits a reply text-based message to the server supplying the requested information. The server stores this information for utilization in provisioning the required infrastructure facilities. Provisioning data required to be stored in the user's equipment is downloaded to the user's equipment. This process permits an over the air provisioning to be accomplished without requiring the use of a voice channel between the user and a customer service representative of the wireless service provider.

  • Patent number: 7570743
Abstract: A method and apparatus for surveillance of voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) communications is provided. A server (112) associated with a network provider receives information to identify communications associated with a party under surveillance (200). The server uses the information to direct communications associated with the party under surveillance to a surveillance server (130) (202). The communications are analyzed to identify any initial VoIP data (204). If initial VoIP data is detected, identifiers for subsequent related VoIP communications are determined from the initial VoIP data (206). The identifiers for subsequent VoIP communications are used to identify subsequent VoIP packets. Those subsequent VoIP packets are then stored and analyzed as needed by an agency conducting surveillance.
