  • Publication number: 20220394714
Abstract: A method of wireless communication performed at a user equipment (UE), includes transmitting, to a network node, a first indication of a first UE radio capability, the first UE radio capability indicating support for a group of evolved universal terrestrial radio access network (E-UTRAN) new radio (NR) dual connectivity (EN-DC) band combinations. The method also includes receiving, from the network node, an indication of an active EN-DC band combination based on transmitting the first indication. The method further includes transmitting, to the network node, a second indication of a second UE radio capability based on an actual data throughput metric associated with the active EN-DC band combination satisfying a failure condition. The second UE radio capability may indicate support for one or more non-active EN-DC combinations. Each non-active EN-DC combination may be associated with a potential data throughput metric that is greater than a data throughput threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20100279709
Abstract: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate multimode communication in wireless networks. Receiving and/or transmitting components can comprise a plurality of receive paths over which antennas can forward concurrently received signals to facilitate simultaneous or shared receiving of signals related to disparate communication technologies. The receive paths can be implemented by one or more multiplexers (e.g., diplexers, triplexers, etc.) to facilitate separating signals simultaneously received over disparate bands. In addition, antenna switching is described to facilitate shared receiving. Multimode transmitting is similarly provided. In particular, voice, data and global positioning system (GPS) signals can be concurrently received and processed by a wireless device.

  • Publication number: 20090191910
Abstract: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate power headroom management in a wireless communication system. As described herein, a predefined relationship between locations along a system frequency band and corresponding power backoff parameters is utilized to minimize spurious emissions outside the system frequency band and/or excessive interference by, for example, associating locations near one or more edges of the permitted frequency band with substantially high power backoff parameters.

  • Publication number: 20060276141
Abstract: Various method and apparatus provides for a method and apparatus for a communication system to efficiently use the traffic channel resources for communications of control data. A controller receiving a transmission indicator of a control message for transmission from a base station to a mobile station over a traffic channel. The controller selects a traffic channel dormant timer based on the transmission indicator. A network entity may send the transmission indicator to the base station. The transmission indicator of the control message is determined based on at least one of extent of communications and size of data of the control message between the mobile station and the base station. The controller sets up a traffic channel for transmission of the control message with the selected traffic channel dormant timer. The traffic channel is torn down after expiration of the selected traffic channel dormant timer.

  • Publication number: 20050201321
Abstract: A method and a system for providing signaling in cellular telephone system providing broadcast services to fully integrate broadcast services with the services provided by the cellular telephone systems. The signaling method coordinate interaction between an access network and the subscriber station to allowing the subscriber station to decode the broadcast service, to receive paging messages while receiving the broadcast service, to properly transition between operation states, and other functions known to one of ordinary skill in the art.

  • Publication number: 20050075107
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided in which an origination station broadcasts a broadcast program to at least one of a plurality of destination stations. A first destination station (or a first group of destination stations) receives a first registration period parameter from the origination station. The first registration period parameter specifies a first period during which the first destination station must register with the origination station. The first destination station may block any attempted registration request that occurs outside the first period. Alternatively, the origination station can deny any attempted registration request by the first destination station that occurs outside the first period. If the registration request from the first destination station is sent before the first period begins, then the destination station can periodically request registration until a request is sent within the first period.

  • Publication number: 20020068564
Abstract: A terminal for wireless communication comprises a transceiver configured to selectively tune to a carrier of a multi-service network or to a carrier of a best-effort network and a processor comprising a do not disturb function. The processor can be configured to tune the transceiver to the multi-service network and register with the multi-service network. The processor can also be configured to tune the transceiver to the best-effort carrier and register with the best-effort network. The processor can then be configured to de-register with the multi-service network when the do not disturb function is activated.
