Publication number: 20120304168Abstract: A technique for composing a virtual desktop associated with one or more applications in a virtualized computing environment. The technique includes generating file system level metadata in the desktop image for applications that create a perception that data blocks in the desktop image have been allocated to applications, but not actually copying any of the application data into the allocated blocks. Instead, the technique builds a mapping table between disk block numbers and the application data, which can be stored in a separate application store. The disclosed techniques provide a more efficient way to compose a virtual desktop, compared to current virtual desktop adoption techniques.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 24, 2011Publication date: November 29, 2012Applicant: VMWARE, INC.Inventors: Sam Arun RAJ SEENIRAJ, Neeraj Sanjeev KULKARNI, Sriranga SEETHARAMAIAH

Publication number: 20120298456Abstract: A disc brake includes a brake disc, a sliding caliper, a single piston, and a brake pad carrier comprising a leading part and a trailing part. The brake pad carrier includes mounting features for securing the brake pad carrier to an associated structure of a vehicle. The mounting features define a mounting side and a non-mounting side of the brake. A mounting side brake pad comprises mounting side friction material and a non-mounting side brake pad comprising non-mounting side friction material. The center of pressure of the non-mounting side friction material is circumferentially aligned with the piston and the center of pressure of the mounting side friction material is offset in relation to the piston towards the leading part of the brake pad carrier.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 26, 2011Publication date: November 29, 2012Inventors: Jason Morris, Paul Roberts, Norman Breakwell, Peter K. Publication number: 20120073913Abstract: A disc brake assembly includes a brake pad having a first pad abutment spaced from a second pad abutment and a third pad abutment positioned between the first pad abutment and the second pad abutment. An actuator is operable to apply a force to the brake pad to apply the brake. The disc brake assembly has a first reaction abutment facing the first pad abutment, a second reaction abutment facing the second pad abutment, and a third reaction abutment facing the third pad abutment. The first, second and third pad abutments are operable to transfer brake pad drag torque to the first, second and third reaction abutments respectively. The disc brake is configured such that under no load conditions with the third pad abutment engaging the third reaction abutment, the first pad abutment is spaced from the first reaction abutment.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 22, 2011Publication date: March 29, 2012Inventors: Jason Morris, Paul Roberts, Norman Breakwell, Peter K. Patent number: 8086725Abstract: Among other disclosure, a method includes receiving first electronic content configured for displaying a first page in a browser, the first electronic content including a document object model for the first page. Content in the document object model is identified as corresponding to at least one advertisement on the first page, the first page further including page content. Information is extracted from the identified content to be used in identifying an advertising network system that the advertisement links to. An identity of the advertising network system is determined using the extracted information. Second electronic content is generated using the first electronic content and the determined identity of the advertising network system. A second page including the page content of the first page and the advertisement is generated and displayed. On the second page the advertisement is labeled with the determined identity of the advertising network system.Type: GrantFiled: August 20, 2007Date of Patent: December 27, 2011Assignee: Google Inc.Inventors: Mike Hsin-Ping Liang, Johan Deckel, Sanjeev Kulkarni, Christine I.
