  • Patent number: 9820236
Abstract: A transmitter and method for transmitting a communication signal having at least a first carrier and a second carrier. The transmitter includes a scaling factor estimator configured to estimate a first power scaling factor for the first carrier and a second power scaling factor for the second carrier; and a gain controller configured to adjust at least one of a power of the first carrier based on the first power scaling factor and a power of the second carrier based on the second power scaling factor, wherein a sum of the adjusted powers of the first and second carriers is less than or equal to a maximum transmission power, and a power imbalance between the adjusted powers of the first and second carriers is less than or equal to a maximum power imbalance.

  • Patent number: 9338751
Abstract: A device includes a first adjustment unit which is configured to adjust a power of a first carrier signal, and a second adjustment unit configured to adjust a power of a second carrier signal. The first adjustment unit is configured to adjust the first carrier signal power based on a maximum allowable imbalance between the first carrier signal power and the second carrier signal power. A method for controlling a transmit power in a user equipment of a radio communications system includes calculating in the user equipment first carrier signal power and a second carrier signal power. The method further includes adjusting in the user equipment the calculated transmit power for at least one out of the first carrier signal and the second carrier signal based on the maximum allowable power imbalance between the first carrier signal power and the second carrier signal power.

  • Patent number: 9226235
Abstract: A circuit arrangement is provided. The circuit arrangement may include: a processing circuit configured to receive a pre-processed signal at a first data rate during a first time period, the processing circuit further configured to perform a communications network search by processing the pre-processed signal at a first processing clock frequency during the first time period, and to perform the communications network search by processing the pre-processed signal at a second processing clock frequency during a second time period, wherein the second time period commences after the first time period, and wherein the second processing clock frequency is greater than the first processing clock frequency.
