Publication number: 20130260844Abstract: In one embodiment, an antenna system has a plurality of antenna paths and a calibration circuit. Each of the antenna paths has a transceiver and an antenna element. The calibration circuit has (i) a calibration transceiver and a different coupler coupled to each antenna path. The couplers are connected in series with one another and with the calibration transceiver. Connecting the couplers in series, rather than in parallel, reduces the amount of cabling needed and the need for a combiner/splitter or switch matrix between the couplers and the calibration transceiver, thereby reducing the cost, volume, and/or weight associated with the calibration circuit.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 15, 2013Publication date: October 3, 2013Applicant: ANDREW LLCInventors: John S. Patent number: 7759948Abstract: A disposable meter for testing the level of total dissolved solids in a water source and a method of testing the concentration of total dissolved solids are herein disclosed. The disposable meter may include a body with at least water resistant properties, a first indicator, the energization of which is indicative of a threshold level measured total dissolved solids, a pair of electrodes wherein energization passing between the pair of electrodes completes a circuit, and circuitry disposed within the body connected to the first indicator and the pair of electrodes. The circuitry may be configured to commence energization to pass between the pair of electrodes, measure the conductivity of the water between the pair of electrodes, and energize the first indicator if the measured conductivity value exceeds a predetermined threshold value.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 2007Date of Patent: July 20, 2010Assignee: Pentair Filtration Solutions, LLCInventors: Andy Tischendorf, Santanu Roy, Sanjeev Patel, Roy Parker, Manu Verma, Dean Jarog, Nanda K. Patent number: 5924124Abstract: A microcontroller, which is configured in a certain mode, may generate signals that can cause malfunctions of the microcontroller or of other devices. For example, a prefetch cycle at an internal memory boundary may attempt to access external memory via a port when the port is connected to an I/O device. The system of the invention gates such signals and thus prevents possible damage to the microcontroller or peripheral device. In a preferred embodiment, a software programmable register is provided with one location dedicated to storing a bit. When that register bit is set, it prevents certain signals and address/data from appearing at the port and thus possibly causing harm to the microcontroller or a peripheral device connected to the port.Type: GrantFiled: May 27, 1997Date of Patent: July 13, 1999Assignee: Philips Electronics North America CorporationInventors: Santanu Roy, Farrell L. Patent number: 5655135Abstract: In a computer system, especially a microcontroller, a circuit for protecting hardware-modifiable status bits during a read-modify-write operation, which circuit is relatively simple to implement yet operates well and does not require an undue amount of die real estate to implement. The circuit comprises means for storing information representing whether a hardware-modifiable status bit has been updated during a read-modify-write operation, and means to prevent over-writing of the status bit during the write portion of the read-modify-write cycle when the stored information is detected. The means for storing the information comprises a latch set into its first state whose output indicates whether the first state exists. That output is connected to logic circuitry which blocks the rewrite portion of the read-modify-write operation from changing a hardware-modified bit set during that cycle.Type: GrantFiled: September 16, 1994Date of Patent: August 5, 1997Assignee: Philips Electronics North America CorporationInventors: Kevin A.
