  • Publication number: 20240291628
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may transmit a channel switch announcement indicating a time by which a channel switch is to occur, wherein the time for the channel switch is less than a beacon interval from the time by which the channel switch announcement is transmitted. The wireless communication device may perform the channel switch in accordance with the channel switch announcement. Numerous other aspects are described.

  • Publication number: 20240267834
Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, components, devices and systems for a distributed wireless local area network (WLAN) scan for low latency applications. Some aspects more specifically relate to a first wireless communication device, such as a station, splitting a set of channels to scan into different subsets for scanning by one or more connected wireless communication devices in proximity to the wireless communication device. The first wireless communication device may indicate one or more of the subsets of channels to the connected wireless communication device in proximity to the first wireless communication device for scanning, and the first wireless communication device may receive results of the scanning of the subset of channels from the connected wireless communication device.

  • Publication number: 20240224160
Abstract: This disclosure provides wireless communication methods, components, devices and systems for target wake time (TWT) session establishment. In some examples, a wireless communication device can include, in a frame that it transmits in conjunction with a fast basic service set (BSS) transition, a resource information container (RIC) containing a resource request that indicates a set of proposed TWT parameters for a TWT session between the wireless communication device and a target access point (AP) of the fast BSS transition. In some examples, the RIC can additionally include resource request(s) indicating traffic specification (TSPEC) traffic stream setup request(s), block acknowledgment setup request(s) or a combination of both. In some examples, the wireless communication device can include multiple TWT requests in the RIC, optionally in combination with one or more TSPEC resource requests, one or more block acknowledgment resource requests or a combination of both.

  • Publication number: 20240214811
Abstract: Systems and techniques are provided for wireless communications. For example, a network device can receive an unprotected management frame indicative of a disconnection of the network device. The unprotected management frame includes an address indicative of an identified wireless access point (AP) associated with the disconnection. The network device can determine a transmitter signature associated with the unprotected management frame. The network device can determine a difference between the transmitter signature and a corresponding transmitter signature associated with a protected data frame received from the identified wireless AP. The network device can further determine, based on the difference being greater than a threshold, the unprotected management frame is not transmitted by the identified wireless AP.

  • Publication number: 20240147318
Abstract: Aspects relate to roaming using multi-link communication. In some examples, a wireless station communicating with a first access point via a multi-link connection, using a first link and at least one other link, may identify a failure condition associated with the at least one other link. In this case, the wireless station may use one of the links to verify a connection to a second access point, while maintaining connectivity with the first access point via the first link Once connectivity to the second access point is verified, the wireless station may switch its multi-link connection to the second access point.

  • Publication number: 20200383045
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Wireless stations (STAs) may be within the coverage areas of several of access points (APs). In such cases, STAs may detect some set of candidate APs for possible connection, and the STAs may perform some selection procedure to select an AP for connection. For example, a STA may score or rank available APs (e.g., APs within the set of candidate APs), and the STA may sort the candidate APs into different bins (e.g., categories) based on their respective scores (e.g., based on each AP's candidate score). Each bin may thus include one or more APs associated with some scoring range. A STA may then randomly (e.g., or pseudo-randomly) select an AP from the bin associated with a highest range of candidate scores, and the STA may connect to the selected AP.
