Abstract: A method and computer program for enhancing child safety in child care organizations involves registering a child and the child's guardian by receiving biometric data from the child and the guardian and storing the biometric data in a database. When an adult drops off or picks up the child, the program identifies the adult as an authorized guardian by receiving biometric data from the child and from the adult and comparing the newly-received biometric data with the biometric data stored in the database. The program further automatically logs event and status information associated with the child, such as check-in and check-out times.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for real time synchronization of a computing device profile using an external storage includes a method for copying a user profile from a first computer system to an external storage device, attaching the external storage device to a second computer system and restoring the user profile from the storage device onto the second computer system. For added security, the user profile may be encrypted upon the external storage device.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for authenticating a user profile and for providing user access to restricted information based upon biometric confirmation disclosed. Multiple authorized biometric inputs may be coupled to multiple applications, each input initiating a respective application as well as authenticating the user of that application so that the presentation of a biometric scan yields the initiation of the application as well as the authorization of the user to access the application and its associated data.
