  • Publication number: 20150213989
Abstract: An apparatus to remotely reset a lock out mechanism of an electric distribution circuit breaker from a trip-free position includes a remote signal receiver to receive a remote reset signal and initiate movement of a lever based on the remote reset signal. The apparatus also includes a remote reset link assembly to move from a first position in response to the movement of the lever and cause a movement of a reset component. The movement of the reset component results in a reset of the lock out mechanism.

  • Patent number: 8497439
Abstract: A secondary disconnect apparatus for a circuit breaker, for making a slidable electrical connection with a mating enclosure-side secondary disconnect apparatus, is disclosed, having a pair of stop plate surfaces coupled to the circuit breaker defining a first linear distance D1, and a lateral adjustment portion in slidable communication with a pair of a guide members configured to guide movement of the lateral adjustment portion along an axis in one of a first and a second direction. The apparatus includes and a pair of adjustment member surfaces coupled to the lateral adjustment portion defining a second linear distance D2, wherein the adjustment member surfaces are configured to cooperate with the stop plate surfaces to limit the travel of lateral adjustment portion, and wherein a total predetermined lateral distance of travel of lateral adjustment portion 250 is defined based on at least the difference between first distance D1 and second distance D2.

  • Patent number: 7911302
Abstract: A mechanism for a circuit breaker contact arm that allows current limiting by reducing the opening time is disclosed. A secondary trip assembly is arranged to actuate due to magnetic forces generated during an undesirable electrical condition such as a short circuit. The secondary trip system releases a contact arm assembly allowing the contact arm to rotate to an open position that interrupts the flow of electrical power.

  • Patent number: 7566840
Abstract: A mechanism for a circuit breaker contact arm that allows current limiting by reducing the opening time is disclosed. A contact arm is coupled to a contact arm mechanism that includes a carrier coupled to a first pair of linkages. A second pair of linkages is coupled to the first pair of linkages. A second carrier coupled to the second pair of linkages attaches to the contact arm mechanism to a main circuit breaker mechanism through a lay shaft assembly. Upon the occurrence of an undesired electrical condition, the contact arm mechanism moves from a locked to an open position allowing the contact arm to blow open.
