  • Patent number: 11694832
Abstract: A transformer includes a closed loop core having a first leg and a second leg. The transformer also includes a first primary winding surrounding the first and second legs, a second primary winding surrounding the first and second legs, and first and second secondary windings surrounding the first and second legs, respectively, and disposed between the first and second primary windings. A first turn of the first and second secondary windings are disposed on a first interlayer winding layer, and other turns of the first and second secondary windings are disposed on a first layer that is further from the first primary winding than the first interlayer winding layer.
    Type: Grant

  • Publication number: 20200251270
Abstract: A transformer includes a closed loop core having a first leg and a second leg. A first primary winding surrounds the first leg and a second primary winding surrounds the second leg. A first secondary winding surrounds the first leg and a second secondary winding surrounds the second leg. The first primary winding causes a magnetic flux to flow in the first leg in a first direction and the second primary winding causes the magnetic flux to flow in the second leg in a second direction that is opposite from the first direction.

  • Patent number: 10700551
Abstract: An inductive wireless power transfer device includes a primary winding assembly and a secondary winding assembly separated from the primary winding assembly by a distance. A first magnetic core cap is on the primary winding assembly and a second magnetic core cap is on the secondary winding assembly so as to magnetically couple together the primary winding assembly and the secondary winding assembly. A multi-section high voltage (HV) isolator is interposed between the primary winding assembly and the secondary winding assembly. The multi-section HV isolator includes at least one individual insulator section comprising a dielectric material, and at least one intermediate magnetic core comprising a ferrite material interposed between the primary winding assembly and the secondary winding assembly.

  • Patent number: 9310321
Abstract: A system and associated method for quickly and automatically determining if the safety and performance of a gun tube have been compromised by firing damage or by an excessive number of fatigue cycles. An electromagnetic resonant cavity inspection provides a means of rapidly evaluating the health of the gun tube by monitoring the resonant frequencies that evolve from microwave signals introduced into the cavity or bore of the gun tube. This approach exploits the high sensitivity of the electromagnetic cavity resonance phenomena. Defects and degradation in the structure's cavity produce quantifiable changes in the quality factor, frequency shifts, and mode splitting.
