Abstract: The rocking bed base is configured for use with a mattress. The rocking bed base is configured to fit inside of the existing bed frame or replace the bed frame and box spring traditionally associated with a mattress. The rocking bed base comprises a pedestal, a mattress container, the mattress, and a personal data device. The mattress container attaches to the pedestal. The mattress is contained within the mattress container. The mattress container is motorized such that the mattress container will rhythmically rotate around an axis of rotation that is parallel to the major axis of the pedestal. The personal data device controls the rotation of the mattress container. The personal data device further controls the sleeping environment in the space around the rocking bed base.
