  • Patent number: 10022233
Abstract: An orthopedic implant device has a bone-replacement contour that replicates a healthy bone surface contour. An exterior surface of the device has elution pores. Interior surfaces of the device define a reservoir that is spaced inward from the exterior surface. The reservoir stores a therapeutic agent delivery medium impregnated with a therapeutic agent. The interior surfaces further define elution channels communicating the reservoir with the elution pores to convey a therapeutic agent from the reservoir to the exterior surface. A solid therapeutic agent delivery medium is stored in the reservoir, and is biodegradable under the influence of synovial fluid.
