Patent number: 8061368Abstract: The invention is directed to a pony tail holder including a friction member for more effectively engaging the strands of hair in the pony tail to prevent slippage of the pony tail holder during use. The pony tail holder may include a fabric ring having an annular area at least a portion of which comprises a tubular annulus around a central hole in which a pony tail is to be gripped by the pony tail holder, and an elastic core disposed within the tubular annulus of the fabric ring and extending around the central hole. The pony tail holder may further include a friction member woven into the fabric ring proximate an inner edge of the fabric ring such that at least a portion of the friction member is exposed through the outer surface of the fabric ring and engages the pony tail when the pony tail holder is disposed thereon, with the coefficient of friction of the friction member being greater than the coefficient of friction of the outer surface of the fabric ring.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 2006Date of Patent: November 22, 2011Assignee: Goody Products, Inc.Inventors: Stan Chudzik, Michael Defenbaugh, Emmie Henderson, Sarah Kraft, Catherine Schweers, P. Patent number: 7753058Abstract: A hair retaining clip including a first clip member, a second clip member, a hinge, an elastic member is disclosed. The first and second clip members each include a handle portion and a claw portion. The hinge is disposed between and pivotally connects the first and second clip members. An elastic member is disposed between and connects to the first and second clip members thereby biasing the claw portions of the respective first and second clip members together.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 2005Date of Patent: July 13, 2010Assignee: Goody Products, Inc.Inventors: Stan Chudzik, Michael Defenbaugh, Sarah Kraft, Ping Chiu Lau

Patent number: 7549201Abstract: An elastic shoelace includes a first end and a second end, an elongate elastic core, a sheath, and an elongate friction member. The elongate elastic core extends between the first and second ends of the elastic shoelace, and the sheath includes an outer surface and surrounds the elongate elastic core. The elongate friction member is disposed in the sheath, and at least a portion of the elongate friction member protrudes past the outer surface of the sheath.Type: GrantFiled: January 10, 2006Date of Patent: June 23, 2009Assignees: Goody Products, Inc., Goodway (Far East) Industrial Ltd.Inventors: Sarah Kraft, Deborah Rubin, Lau P. Publication number: 20090090378Abstract: A head band includes an elongate body and a securing device. The body is configured to be placed on and generally conform to the contour of a user's head. The securing device extends between attachment portions of the body so that the securing device and the body cooperatively define a continuous loop. The securing device has flexible teeth that engage the user's hair to comfortably secure the head band to the user's head. In one embodiment, the securing device extends between opposite end portions of the elongate body, in another the elongate body has tail portions that wrap over and conceal the securing device, and in still another an elastic strap is routed through the teeth.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 22, 2008Publication date: April 9, 2009Inventors: Stan Chudzik, Sarah Kraft, Deborah Rubin

Publication number: 20080156340Abstract: The disclosure is directed to a hair accessory, such as a scarf, headband, head wrap, ponytail wrap and the like, having a strip of fabric having opposite ends and oppositely disposed longitudinal edges, and a friction member having a coefficient of friction greater than a coefficient of friction of the strip of fabric. The friction member may be stitched into the strip of fabric in a decorative pattern and with at least a portion of the friction member being exposed through one of the surfaces of the strip of fabric and engaging the hair of a person wearing the hair accessory when the hair accessory is worn. Alternatively, the friction member may be adhered to a surface of the strip of fabric in a decorative pattern and engaging the hair of a person wearing the hair accessory when the hair accessory is worn.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 27, 2006Publication date: July 3, 2008Applicant: GOODY PRODUCTSInventors: Regina K.
