  • Patent number: 11883588
Abstract: Embodiments described herein describe a drug delivery device and a method of use thereof. The device includes a medicament container, a compressed gas container, an outlet, and a double-sided needle located within the housing. When a user presses an actuation button, the compressed air container is moved towards the medicament container and towards a proximal end of the double-sided needle. The double-sided needle pierces both the compressed gas container and the medicament container, opening fluid flow communication between the two containers, and causing medicament to be expelled out of the medicament container.

  • Publication number: 20230381098
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a drug delivery device. The drug delivery device is taken orally by a patient, and then activates within the gastrointestinal (GI) tract of the patient. Upon activation, resilient arms within the drug delivery device expand and engage the GI tract walls. A driver then drives a plunger within the drug delivery device, pushing a drug through a channel in the resilient arms and through the GI tract walls of the patient. After a period of time, at least a portion of the drug delivery device dissolves and the drug delivery device passes through the GI tract.

  • Publication number: 20230355532
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a drug delivery device. The drug delivery device is taken orally by a patient, and a capsule degrades within the gastrointestinal (GI) tract of the patient. An expanding band coated with a drug and located within the capsule expands and interfaces with the interior of the GI tract, allowing the drug to diffuse through the GI tract. After a period of time, the expanding band degrades and passes through the GI tract.

  • Publication number: 20160178491
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure include systems and methods for capturing particular biological matter from a sample from an individual. The systems and methods employ an apparatus (such as a container that is a tube or bag) comprising a fluoropolymer coating that is modified to comprise one or more moieties for binding of a desired biological agents when a sample is exposed to the modified fluoropolymer. In particular aspects, the biological matter is a particular type of cell, such as a particular blood or bone marrow cell, and the desired cell is captured by means of an aptamer selected to bind the cell.
