    Abstract: The present disclosure provides an improved osteotome instrument for removing an acetabular cup from an acetabulum, including an explant adapter connectable to an elongated handle shaft of the instrument. The explant adapter is sized and shaped to connect any one of a set of a plurality of different sized interchangeable pivot elements, such as spherical heads, to the osteotome instrument for use in removing the acetabular cup from the acetabulum. The pivot heads may be relatively large diameter pivot heads.
