  • Patent number: 11857947
Abstract: A method includes: providing an absorber material including: a casing; and superabsorbent particles arranged therein, and using the absorber material to absorb and/or distribute liquids in an actively and/or passively cooled current-carrying system including an actively and/or passively cooled power storage system. The casing has at least two plies arranged in a planar fashion on one another. Regions of the at least two plies are connected to one another by at least one seam such that the casing is segmented in a form of pockets separated from one another. At least some of the pockets have the superabsorbent particles.

    Assignee: CARL FREUDENBERG KG
Inventors: Ulrich Schneider, Markus Weber, Sarah Senne
  • Patent number: 11792966
Abstract: A flexible laminate for shielding against electromagnetic radiation includes: a) at least one metal foil; and b) a sheet-like substrate made of a fiber material, film material, or foam material. The laminate includes a plurality of objects formed by incisions into a base area of the laminate. Each object of the plurality of objects is made of two or more incisions having a common initial point. The two or more incisions, or each of two adjacent incisions of the two or more decisions, define an angle of 45° to 160°.

  • Publication number: 20220367935
Abstract: The invention relates to the use of a composite material, comprising a backing layer and a liquid-absorbing layer fixed on the backing layer, the liquid-absorbing layer containing fixed superabsorbent particles, there being, on the side of the liquid-absorbing layer facing away from the backing layer, a liquid-distributing layer which is in liquid-conducting contact with the liquid-absorbing layer and absorbs and distributes, in the plane of the composite material, a liquid to be absorbed, for absorbing and distributing liquids in actively- and/or passively-cooled current-carrying systems—in particular, in actively- and/or passively-cooled energy storage systems.

  • Publication number: 20200116906
Abstract: A method of using a non-woven material, preferably a wet-laid non-woven material, as a light-distribution element, includes: providing the non-woven material, the non-woven material including: (a1) 1-50 wt % matrix fibers; (a2) 50-99 wt % of at least partially thermally fused binder fibers; and (b) 20-200 wt % of at least one filler polymer. The proportions by weight of matrix fibers, at least partially thermally fused binder fibers, and at least one filler polymer in each case relate to a total weight of the non-woven material without the at least one filler polymer The matrix fibers include at least one matrix fiber polymer and the at least partially thermally fused binder fibers include at least one binder fiber polymer. The at least one matrix fiber polymer and/or at least one binder fiber polymer independently of one another have a refractive index “n” of 1.3 to 1.7.
