  • Patent number: 12194079
Abstract: Methods of treating Fabry disease via administration of stabilized plant recombinant human alpha galactosidase protein comprising at least two alpha-galactosidase monomers being covalently linked to one another via a linking moiety, and unit dosages of protein are disclosed herein. The disclosed protocols are safe, have greater than 2 week intervals between administrations and exhibit important improvement in patient's disease parameters, in terms of reduced Gb3 accumulation, pain and GI parameters, kidney and cardiac stabilization in the clinical setting.

  • Publication number: 20040015101
Abstract: The invention relates to a non-invasive method for the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease in a subject, comprising the steps of measuring in a urine sample the concentrations of one or more thromboxanes, the conductivity, and the concentration of at least one additional marker of cardiovascular disease, which marker can be chosen from apolipoprotein (a), conjugated dienes and lipid peroxides. Diagnosing the presence of cardiovascular disease in said subject is carried out by comparison of the analytical results with pre-determined reference values. The invention further relates to a kit for the rapid diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases.

  • Publication number: 20030171698
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the diagnosis of a medical condition in a subject, comprising the steps of measuring the concentration of one or more analytes, relevant for the diagnosis of said medical condition, in a urine sample; measuring the electrical conductivity of said urine sample; obtaining a normalized value for the analyte concentration by dividing said analyte concentration by the electrical conductivity; and determining whether said subject is suffering from said medical condition by means of comparing the normalized value with a pre-determined reference value. The medical condition to be diagnosed can be, for example, an acute cardiac condition for which the relevant urinary analyte can be one or more thromboxanes.
