A mobile wireless communications device is configured to send an e-mail search request. An aggregation server is configured to communicate using the different e-mail protocols, and receive and forward the e-mail search request to the e-mail server using the given e-mail protocol. The aggregation server receives and forwards the e-mail search results from the e-mail server to the mobile wireless communications device. The mobile wireless communications device stores the e-mail search results in memory while displaying the e-mail search results on a search results screen on a display.
