  • Publication number: 20200065238
Abstract: Validation and determination of business application program content quality destined for loading on a target production computing environment is automated by receiving an application program into a controlled production computing environment, and, during a dry run test in the production computing environment, logging changes to content from an initial state as loaded by the application program; applying a business rule to the content during data loading to validate against business objects; capturing validation errors produced by the validation and structural change commands to the content into a log file; and automatically rolling back changes made to the content during the dry run test to the initial state thereby avoiding committing content changes to the production computing environment.

  • Patent number: 9063808
Abstract: A computer implemented method, apparatus, and computer usable program code for deploying packages. In response to a request to deploy a package for a software application containing metadata, a first portion of the metadata describing the package is processed. A second portion of the metadata relating to modification of a database is processed for the software application after processing the first portion of the metadata. A third portion of the metadata describing all other content for the software application is processed after processing the second portion of the metadata.

  • Patent number: 8418138
Abstract: A method, system and computer-usable medium for automatically tracking changes in an application such as, for example, a software solution. A particular definition can be created, which is indicative of an application artifact to be tracked during the development of the application, which includes the application artifact. The particular definition can be qualified by specifying a user authorized to modify the application artifact. The user can be identified by the particular role that the user plays during the development of the application. Thereafter, modifications to the application can be automatically tracked based on the particular role that the user plays during the development of the application with respect to the application artifact, thereby permitting modifications to the application to be tracked and recorded in a comprehensive manner.
