The support system has first connection elements, the at least one plug connection component of which is disposed on a longitudinal side of the assigned support. The support system has second connection elements, the at least one plug connection component of which are disposed on an end side of the assigned support, and the second connection elements are selectively connectable to a first connection element or to a further second connection element. A system of connection elements includes first connection elements as well as second connection elements.
