  • Patent number: 10416177
Abstract: The invention provides for an analysis system (100, 300, 400) for analyzing a biological sample (108) comprising an analyzer (102) with an analytical unit (106) for analyzing the biological sample to obtain an analysis result (140). The analyzer is configured for receiving a cartridge (110) comprising an identifier (114) and containing at least one reagent for analyzing the biological sample. The analyzer comprises an identification unit (116) for reading the identifier. The analyzer accepts the cartridge if the identifier is valid. The analysis system further comprises a protocol creation system (150, 104).

Inventors: Paul Frank, Christopher Newhouse, Sascha Roehrig
  • Patent number: 10311205
Abstract: An analysis system for biological samples is disclosed that includes at least one analyzer with an analytical unit for analyzing the biological samples and an analyzer controller. The analysis system further includes an analyzer data management system (ADMS) operable for receiving a selection of an operating environment chosen from multiple operating environments. In some embodiments, an analytical system is provided which offers a switch between sample testing and software validation on the same hardware, thereby offering efficiency and flexibility. For example, if sample testing is typically restricted to a particular time of the day (e.g., blood banks often get their samples in the evening and conduct the sample testing at night), the daytime hours can be used to validate new software. In such a case, additional instruments for software validation are not required and expensive idle times of analytical systems are reduced.

  • Publication number: 20150219637
Abstract: An analytical processing and detection device is described which comprises a rack capable of holding at least one reaction receptacle, at least one magnetic unit for exerting a magnetic field on at least one reaction receptacle comprising magnetic particles in a fluid, wherein said at least one magnetic unit is reversibly or irreversibly connected to said rack, and wherein said magnetic field causes the magnetic particles to be sequestered to the side walls of said at least one reaction receptacle, and a detection unit for detecting a signal in the fluid in said reaction receptacle.
