Abstract: An energy-saving vertical or horizontal window blind offers two levels of light for any slat angle. Additionally, the blind cools the room when closed without creating glare when open. The blind slats rotate 360 degrees, and flip and rotate 180 degrees from any angle. The slats have two sides that are optically different. They are more reflective on one side, and less reflective on the other side. The 180 degree or 360 degree rotation takes place despite the blind slats overlapping each other. The overcoming of overlap is achieved by use of slats that are made of bendable and flexible material at the longitudinal edge, where they overlap. One side of the slats could have grooves running longitudinally along the axis of slats. These grooves can either have a reflective surface or be non-reflective.

Abstract: A vertical or horizontal window or skylight blind or shutter having slats which have two physically different surfaces on each face. The blinds overlap slightly at their long edges when closed, yet they are able to rotate at least 180 degrees around their longitudinal axis. One face of the slat has triangular grooves on it running parallel to the length of the slat. The triangular grooves are coated with a pigment that reflects by specular and/or direct diffusion the sun's electromagnetic energy, whereby the room is kept cool in summer and warm in winter.

Abstract: A personal computer mouse is disclosed that can be used both as a regular mouse as well as a vertical mouse. One or two tracking mechanisms are placed on the mouse such that the hand can go from being in the horizontal position (same orientation as if the hand was with the palm resting flat on a table top) to the vertical position (same orientation if the hand was in a hand-shake position).
