  • Publication number: 20210307949
Abstract: A traction apparatus develops a pull force through some or all the compressed joints of the ankles, the knees, the hips and the vertebrae of an individual, after the individual attaches to the ankles, or the waist, or the shoulders, a harness connected to suspended weights, and then positions self to rest supine over an inclinable, full length frictionless surface of full-width idler rollers, and inserts self's head's occipital portion into a crescent shaped hollow head restrainer which arrests the body's pull by the weights.

  • Publication number: 20130259994
Abstract: A vertical apparatus,—for mixtures of solids & liquids,—used to exchange essence between them,—or used to separate solids from liquids or vice a versa,—placed on the inside floor of a container, has: (1) an outer & (2) an inner parts, both substantially, cylindrically shaped, open ended, loose yet close fitting, & concentrically nested, with the outer part having an integral seal ring at its bottom end, and (3) a horizontal filter element covering the inner part's bottom opening, it being held clamped between the close fitting substantially cylindrical parts. With fluids placed inside the apparatus, they remain there without leaking past the seal ring, until the apparatus is lifted off of the container floor to unseal & filter the fluids into the container.

  • Patent number: 7905846
Abstract: A specialized bed is described, FIGS. 2 and 3, that will prevent bedsores, heal existing bedsores, with no repositioning of patient required. With modifications it will be an effective massager, FIGS. 14 and 15. The following is a description for Bedsores Therapy. The electro-mechanically powered bed, designed for resting of a living body that has limited or no capability of motion by self, has its resting area composed of movable Bed Elements, FIGS. 5 and 6. The sequential lowering of these Bed Elements from contact with the body for sufficient length of time reestablishes blood circulation near skin in the regions that had been starved of blood. Down and up motion of the Bed Elements is created by Gear Motor Drive 30 which rotates two Camshaft assemblies 28L and 28R. A series of Cams 82, arranged with gradual phase shift, give the down and up movements to the Bed Elements in a desired sequential and cyclical manner.

  • Publication number: 20090076529
Abstract: An apparatus consists of two or more semi-circular clamshell clamps to surround a lumen externally during balloon angioplasty procedure. When the clamps are closed, they are prevented from opening during the procedure, with the use of a positive stop or a fastener. The procedure facilitates the use of higher than normal pressures within the balloon, which further assists in creating larger passages of the lumen without the fear of rupturing unsupported lumen walls. The procedure also facilitates the use of stronger and larger stents to be implanted internally or externally to the lumen.

  • Patent number: 4575298
Abstract: An apparatus for unstacking or destacking sheets of material from a stack of such sheets is disclosed. The apparatus includes an arrangement for directing air against the stack of sheets in order to entirely separate at least one uppermost sheet of the stack from the remaining sheets by floating that sheet on a layer of air. A pusher mechanism is provided for moving the separated sheet out of registry with the remaining sheets, and into a roller mechanism which displaces the separated sheet from above the remaining sheets of the stack. The apparatus also includes an indexing mechanism for indexing the stack of sheets upwardly in order to float the next sheet of the stack and present it to the pusher mechanism. A sensing mechanism is provided for determinig the position of the uppermost one of the remaining sheets of the stack as the stack is indexed upwardly.
