Methods and systems for managing bearer configuration of user equipment (UE) with Evolved-Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network-New Radio-Dual Connectivity (E-UTRAN-NR-DC) (EN-DC) capability. The UE detects connectivity issues in the UE itself and in interfaces connecting between a NR network with the UE, a LTE network, or an EPC that require disabling NR capability of the UE. The bearer configuration is determined and updated based on the detected connectivity issues.
