Patent number: 11518573Abstract: A system and method palletize containers having electrical terminals for charging electronic devices packaged therein. First, a stacking pattern is determined on the basis of the sizes, shapes, and locations of electrical terminals on both the pallets and the containers to be stacked. These data may be read, for example, with a computer vision system that uses an articulating robotic arm, and may be encoded in a two-dimensional barcode on each pallet and/or container. Next, the robotic arm stacks the container so that its terminals make electrical contact with terminals on the pallet, or on a previously-stacked layer of containers. Then, the placement is tested to ensure that a good electrical connection exists vertically through the entire stack. Once the pallet is finalized, all electronic devices carried thereon may be simultaneously charged during transit or storage.Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 2020Date of Patent: December 6, 2022Assignee: Dell Products L.P.Inventors: Sathish Bikumala, Jace Files, Ares Sakamoto

Patent number: 11461182Abstract: Techniques are provided for storage system backup and de-duplication. In an example, a file system stores a plurality of files. These files can be grouped into smaller sets through a series of iterations, where a set of files is similar to each other. Then, files of a set of files can be directly compared for duplicate information relative to each other, one copy of this duplicate information can be stored, and other copies can be discarded.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 2020Date of Patent: October 4, 2022Assignee: EMC IP HOLDING COMPANY LLCInventors: Deepak Nagarajegowda, Sathish Bikumala

Patent number: 11288363Abstract: An activity sensing circuit includes an ammeter circuit configured to monitor a supply current drawn specifically by a webcam. A hardware trigger circuit receives a webcam supply current monitoring signal from the ammeter circuit, and detects when the webcam supply current monitoring signal indicates the supply current drawn specifically by the webcam exceeds a first threshold supply current level. In response to detection of the supply current exceeding the first threshold supply current level, the trigger circuit notifies an indicator circuit to provide a user-perceptible indication. The indicator circuit is immune to control by a processor of an information handling system of which it is part.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 2019Date of Patent: March 29, 2022Assignee: Dell Products L.P.Inventors: Sathish Bikumala, Jace W. Patent number: 11159035Abstract: A container for an electronic device having a battery and a method of maintaining electrical charge in the battery are described. The container includes a cushioning material, such as molded expanded foam, to receive and secure the device (e.g. for shipping or storage) and to position its battery charging interface near a charging terminal within the container. The charging terminal itself cushions the device, and is electrically connected to charging terminals on the top and bottom of the container, such as a plate on the top and a pogo pin on the bottom. Connecting the charging terminals to a power source supplies power to the charging terminal, hence the battery charging interface of the device either via a physical contact or wireless power transfer. The container and method may be used to deliver the electronic device fully charged to an end user.Type: GrantFiled: December 31, 2019Date of Patent: October 26, 2021Assignee: EMC IP Holding Company LLCInventors: Sathish Bikumala, Jace Files, Ares Sakamoto

Publication number: 20200245055Abstract: For example, a headphone includes a headband, a first housing with a first cushion and a first size selector, and a second housing with a second cushion and a second size selector. A linkage connects the first size selector to the second size selector. If the linkage is engaged, moving the first size selector in a first direction causes the first cushion and the second cushion to simultaneously increase from a first size to a second size. Moving the first size selector in a second direction causes the first cushion and the second cushion to simultaneously decrease from the second size to the first size. In the first size, the first and second cushion have supra-aural properties. In the second size, the first and the second cushion have circum-aural properties. If the linkage is disengaged, a size of the first cushion and the second cushion may be independently adjusted.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 29, 2019Publication date: July 30, 2020Inventors: Sathish Bikumala, Parminder Singh Sethi, Anshul Saxena

Patent number: 10289522Abstract: A rules-based engine uses artificial intelligence to perform an automated diagnostic check of a computer chassis. The rules-based engine consults a dynamically-changing dependency map to determine what diagnostic data is retrieved. The rules-based engine also monitors a database of events to determine when the diagnostic data is retrieved. A baseboard management controller may then execute a diagnostic algorithm that conducts the automated diagnostic check according to the dependency map and the database of events. Exemplary embodiments thus offer a machine learning, artificial intelligence scheme for autonomously performed diagnostic testing of processor, memory, software, and networking functions.Type: GrantFiled: April 6, 2017Date of Patent: May 14, 2019Assignee: Dell Products, LPInventors: Sathish Bikumala, Carlos Lourenco Machado
