Patent number: 11931211Abstract: A medical device for cleaning a laparoscope can include a service box with a pump and a gas valve. Each of the pump and the gas valve can be in communication with an exit valve. The pump can be configured to draw fluid into the service box, along a fluid feed line, and out of the exit valve. The gas valve can be configured to selectively permit gas into the service box, along the fluid feed line, and out of the exit valve. The medical device can include a trocar that can be in communication with the exit valve via a flexible tubing. The trocar can include a hub and a cannula. The hub can be configured to receive and direct the laparoscope through the cannula. The cannula can be configured to receive fluid and gas from the exit valve and direct the fluid and gas to the open end.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 2021Date of Patent: March 19, 2024Inventors: Maurice Andre Recanati, Katherine Kramer, Hanna G. Patent number: 10801043Abstract: The present document describes a process for production of hydrogen gas (H2) from fermentation of crude glycerol with a hydrogen producing microorganism in a bioreactor. The process comprises the step of introducing a volume of crude glycerol in a fermentation mixture which comprises a fermentation medium comprised of crude glycerol and hydrogen producing microorganisms under a fermentative hydrogen production condition, and then removing a volume of the fermentation mixture equal to the second volume of the crude glycerol, to maintain constant the total volume of the fermentation mixture.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 2019Date of Patent: October 13, 2020Assignees: CENTRE DE RECHERCHE INDUSTRIELLE DU QUEBEC (CRIQ), INSTITUT NATIONAL DE LA RECHERCHE SCIENTIFIQUE CENTRE EAU TERRE ENVIRONNEMENTInventors: Vinayak Pachapur, Saurabh Jyoti Sarma, Sampa Maiti, Satinder Kaur Brar, Yann Lebihan, Gerardo Buelna, Mausam Verma, Ratul Kumar Das

Patent number: 10662445Abstract: An efficient, rapid ex-situ detoxification has been developed to reduce inhibitor concentration and enhance acetone-butanol-ethanol (ABE) production from brewery industry liquid waste (BLW) and brewery spent grain (BSG). About 80±2.0% extraction of furan derivative and more than 95±2.0% extraction of phenolic compounds and almost no extraction of reducing sugar from simulated synthetic media as well as real waste hydrolysate have been obtained. Ex-situ extraction of microbial inhibitors from BLW and BSG hydrolysates using bis-(2-ethylhexyl) sebacate as solvent leads to high production of ABE of 12.67 g/L and 11.23 g/L respectively. Lower power consumption (0.081 W/L) and reuse of the extracting solvent made this detoxification technique extremely useful for improving production of bio-butanol from agro-industrial waste.Type: GrantFiled: August 8, 2018Date of Patent: May 26, 2020Assignees: INSTITUT NATIONAL DE LA RECHERCHE SCIENTIFIQUE, CENTRE DE RECHERCHE INDUSTRIELLE DU QUEBECInventors: Sampa Maiti, Satinder Kaur Brar, Yann LeBihan, Gorka Gallastegui Ruiz de Gordoa
