  • Publication number: 20190357123
Abstract: Systems and methods of providing communications between UEs are generally described. A notification resource indicating subsequent transmission of a discovery message is transmitted from a UE to another UE using a discovery ID selected from a limited number of discovery IDs stored in the other UE. The other UE transmits a random access request to the UE having a temporary ID. The UE may not respond if the temporary ID is already used or may transmit data transmission information scrambled by the temporary ID. The other UE transmits a contention resolution PDU to the UE and may receive an ACK to indicate ID contention is not present, or either no response or a NACK to indicate the presence of ID contention. The other UE may either select a new temporary ID or use a backoff timer to retransmit the random access request at a random time.

  • Publication number: 20190327328
Abstract: Systems and techniques for information-centric network data cache management are described herein. A demand metric may be calculated for a content item requested from an information-centric network (ICN). A resistance metric may be calculated for each cache node of a set of cache nodes in the ICN based on the demand metric. A topology of the set of cache nodes may be evaluated to identify a transmission cost for each cache node of the set of cache nodes. An influencer node may be selected from the set of cache nodes based on the resistance metric for the influencer node and the transmission cost for the influencer node. The content item may be cached in a data cache of the influencer node.

  • Publication number: 20190327134
Abstract: Systems and techniques for mission critical (MC) push notification mechanism in a high-reliability (HR) information centric network (ICN) are described herein. For example, a node may test network links to other nodes to classify the other nodes into proximate nodes and non-proximate nodes based on a reception metric. The node may then elect a set of leader nodes from the proximate nodes. Here, the set of leader nodes are selected based on link quality between respective leader nodes and non-proximate nodes. The node may detect an MC event and create an ICN data packet that contains data from the MC event. The node may then transmit the ICN data packet to the set of leader nodes that then relay the ICN data packet to the non-proximate nodes.

  • Publication number: 20190327340
Abstract: Systems and techniques for efficient remote function execution in an information centric network (ICN) are described herein. For example, a requestor node may transmit an admission probe interest packet. Here, the admission probe interest packet includes a name that includes a function. The admission probe interest packet also includes a metric of a parameter of the function. In response, the requestor node may receive a manifest data packet. The manifest includes a metric of function execution at a node that created the manifest data packet. The manifest also includes a name of an implementation of the function. The requestor node may then determine that the metric of function execution meets a threshold and transmit an interest packet that includes the name of the implementation of the function.

  • Patent number: 10334642
Abstract: Devices and methods of using a reduced complexity network protocol are generally described. An evolved NodeB (eNB) transmits an Attach Request to a mobility management entity (MME), which transmits a Create Session Request for transmission of non-IP (NIP) data of user equipment (UE) to a Packet Data Network (P-GW). The P-GW in response transmits a Create Session Response, with the UE ID if originating at the P-GW and free from a UE IP address and an Up Link Traffic Flow Template, to the MME, which transmits an Attach Accept to the eNB and UE. A UE identifier (UE ID) either originates at the UE and is transmitted in the Attach Request, or is generated by the eNB, MME or P-GW. The NIP data has a tunneling NIP data packet with a NIP header with the UE ID and a NIP user data packet free from TCP/IP encapsulation and header compression.
