  • Publication number: 20200293280
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses and methods may provide for technology that establishes a point of intersection based on a rate of change in a logarithmic function and generates a first linear estimation of the logarithmic function, wherein the first linear estimation has the point of intersection as an upper bound. Additionally, a second linear estimation of the logarithmic function may be generated, wherein the second linear estimation has the point of intersection as a lower bound. In one example, linear estimations of an antilogarithmic function may be similarly generated based on the rate of change of the antilogarithmic function.

  • Patent number: 10743237
Abstract: Technology for a user equipment (UE) operable to receive system information change notifications from an eNodeB is disclosed. The UE can receive one or more system information (SI) change notifications that indicate a change has occurred in one or more system information blocks (SIBs). The UE can receive a SIB1 that is associated with a value tag, and the SIB1 can include a bit-map that indicates which of the one or more SIBs include a change. The UE can compare the value tag associated with the SIB1 with a value tag stored at the UE. The UE can obtain scheduling information for the one or more SIBs that include a change according to the bitmap when the value tag associated with the SIB1 does not equal to the value tag stored at the UE. The UE can retrieve the SIBs that include a change using the scheduling information.

  • Patent number: 10631359
Abstract: Technology for a mobile station (MS) configured for cellular Internet of Things (CIoT) is disclosed. The MS can receive a ready state discontinuous reception (RS-DRX) configuration message from a base station, wherein the RS-DRX configuration message includes one or more RS-DRX parameters. The MS can initiate RS-DRX based on the one or more RS-DRX parameters included in the RS-DRX configuration message. The RS-DRX can enable the MS to be in a packet idle state of a ready state in between data communications by the MS with the base station. The MS can be configured to periodically switch from a defined sleep duration to a defined ON duration during the packet idle state of the ready state and check for downlink or uplink packet arrivals.

  • Publication number: 20190052442
Abstract: Systems and methods of providing DMRS for a UE are generally described. The DMRS locations in a resource unit of a Physical Resource Allocation of a shared channel are randomly determined, and the DMRS sequences randomly generated before transmission from a master UE to a wearable UE. The DMRS locations are disposed on different subcarriers and symbols in the resource unit and are repeated every k subframes or m resource units within the same subframe. In situations in which the collision/contention probability is relatively small, DMRS in control channels may be used rather than in the shared data channel.

  • Patent number: 10164693
Abstract: Technology for reducing buffer overflow at a Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Serving Gateway (S-GW) is described. A buffer overflow message may be received, at an evolved node B (eNB) from the S-GW, indicating potential overflow of downlink information at an S-GW buffer. The downlink information may be stored at the S-GW buffer until a plurality of user equipments (UEs) awake from a low power mode during a discontinuous reception (DRX) sleep cycle. One or more UEs may be selected from the plurality of UEs according to predefined criteria, wherein the one or more UEs are in a connected mode. The DRX configurations of the one or more UEs may be modified in order to reduce the downlink information that is stored at the S-GW buffer, thereby reducing the potential for overflow at the S-GW buffer.

  • Patent number: 9515689
Abstract: Technology for communicating user equipment (UE) power consumption configurations is disclosed. One method can include selecting, at the UE, a Power Preference Indication (PPI) state of a power consumption configuration of the UE. The UE can receive, from a source evolved node B (eNB), instructions to begin a PPI Prohibit Event Interval during a handover from the source eNB to a target eNB, wherein the UE cannot send the PPI state to the source eNB during the PPI Prohibit Event Interval. The UE can send the PPI state to the target eNB after the PPI Prohibit Event Interval ends and handover has either successfully completed or failed from the source eNB to the target eNB.

  • Patent number: 9237478
Abstract: Technology for communicating a discontinuous reception (DRX) reconfiguration is disclosed. In one method, a preferred power consumption configuration message is received, at an evolved node B (eNB) from a user equipment. The preferred power consumption configuration message may be a one-bit message using a first Boolean value to indicate a preferred power consumption configuration. A DRX reconfiguration request message may be received, from the UE, to reconfigure a DRX configuration of the UE to reduce a power consumption level of the UE. The DRX reconfiguration request message may be the one-bit message using a second Boolean value to indicate a DRX reconfiguration. The eNB may determine to reconfigure the DRX configuration of the UE based on the DRX reconfiguration request message. In addition, the eNB may perform the DRX reconfiguration at the UE by adjusting one or more parameters of the DRX configuration.

  • Publication number: 20150117241
Abstract: A technology that is operable to communicate buffer status report (BSR) information to an evolved node B (eNode B) is disclosed. In one embodiment, a user equipment is configured with circuitry configured to buffer data at the UE for communication to at least one of a master eNode B (MeNode B) or a secondary eNode B (SeNode B). BSR information is determined based on the buffered data at the UE. An uplink split configuration of the UE is determined for the MeNode B and the SeNode B. The MeNode B or the SeNode B is identified based on the uplink split configuration to send selected BSR information. The selected BSR information is communicated to the identified MeNode B or the selected SeNode B.
