    Abstract: A system and method for streaming multimedia content via a cellular network to mobile multimedia devices are disclosed. In one embodiment, an encoded multimedia stream is received by the cellular network via Internet. The encoded multimedia stream includes content metadata, live content and/or on-demand content. Further, the encoded content metadata, live content and/or on-demand content are routed by a multimedia streaming system in the cellular network. Furthermore, the routed content metadata is sent to one or more of the mobile multimedia devices by the multimedia streaming system via the cellular network. In addition, the routed live content and/or on-demand content are adaptively streamed to the one or more of the mobile multimedia devices by the multimedia streaming system via the cellular network. Also, the adaptively streamed live content and/or on-demand content are adaptively decoded by each of the one or more mobile multimedia devices.

    Abstract: A unified user interface for viewing desired multi-media content received from one or more digital media devices and one or more Internet devices on an Internet television (TV) is disclosed. In one embodiment, a raw uncompressed media data is generated from multi-media streams received from the Internet devices. Further, decrypted digital media content is substantially simultaneously generated from received encrypted digital media content received from the digital media devices. Furthermore, mixed multi-media content is generated by processing the raw uncompressed media data and the decrypted digital media content. In addition, any one of the raw uncompressed media data, the decrypted digital media content and the mixed multi-media content is encrypted and transmitted to the Internet TV through a digital media receiver interface. The raw uncompressed media data and decrypted digital media content in the mixed multi-media content are displayed on different portions of a display of the Internet TV.

    Abstract: A system and method for social networking using an Internet television (TV) associated with an Internet TV set-top box are disclosed. In one embodiment, a user is allowed to register in a social network by creating a user profile using the Internet TV set-top box by a content sharing platform. Further, the user profile of the registered user is stored in a profile database by the content sharing platform. Furthermore, the user profile of the registered user is connected with user profiles of other users based on registered user's preferences by the content sharing platform. In addition, the registered user is allowed to organize and store content into different categories based on the registered user's preferences via the Internet TV set-top box by the content sharing platform. Also, the registered user and the other users are allowed to view the organized content by the content sharing platform.

    Abstract: A remote communications server system enables multiple remote users simultaneous access to a network through a segmented design that distributes the processing of the connections among a combination of buses and processors. The system coordinates a plurality of independent communications links bonded together into a single channel to create a virtual connection to the network having a bandwidth greater than the individual links. The system supports a mixture of physical and multiplexed communication links and allows the intermixing of different types of links in a bonded channel. The system is scalable in that segments can be added as needed and the number of lines handled by a segment can be increased.
