Patent number: 10546297Abstract: Systems and methods for data visualization are disclosed. An example method includes: obtaining, via a user device, first user biometric data from a user; comparing the first user biometric data with first stored user biometric data. The first stored user biometric data are stored in a hardware secure element of the user device. The method further includes: determining that the first user biometric data matches the first stored user biometric data; and in response to the determining, transmitting a payment token to a merchant device. The payment token is configured to enable a payment to be made from a payment account associated with the user to a merchant associated with the merchant device.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 2016Date of Patent: January 28, 2020Assignee: PayPal, Inc.Inventors: Satish Narayan Govindarajan, Gunabalan Babu, Khiem Nguyen Pham, Carlos Manuel Rivas, Guhan Senguttuvan, Anantharaj Uruthiralingam

Patent number: 10515353Abstract: A system includes a service provider device and a point of sale (POS) device. A session between a user device and the POS device is established. An authentication request associated with the user device is provided via a user interface of the POS device. Subsequent to an authentication of information, responsive to the authentication request, the POS device receives funding instrument (FI) proxy information corresponding to FIs, which is unusable to identify the FIs by a merchant. A selectable representation corresponding to the FI proxy information is provided via the user interface. Responsive to receiving an indication of a selected member from the selectable representation, information for the selected member is sent. The service provider device determines that the session corresponds to an account associated with the user device and the merchant, and performs a transaction for the session using a first FI that corresponds to the selected member.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 2016Date of Patent: December 24, 2019Assignee: PayPal, Inc.Inventors: Srivathsan Narasimhan, Eric Byungho Min, Michael Charles Todasco, Cheng Tian, Satish Narayan Govindarajan

Publication number: 20190197814Abstract: There are provided systems and methods for a modular mobile point of sale device having separable units for configurable data processing. A modular device may include a main unit that includes data processing features to allow for a mobile point of sale, including a data entry unit for payment data, a communication component to secure communicate that data to a centralized transaction processor, and a processing unit to receive the data and instruct the centralized to process the data with an online service provider. The module device may also be physically and communicatively coupled to additional modules that may increase the on-device functionality of the main unit, include a module to allow user input and additional modules to accept other types of transaction input. On detection of a connected unit, the main unit may secure connect to and authenticate each attached module.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 27, 2017Publication date: June 27, 2019Inventors: Guhan Senguttuvan, Satish Narayan Govindarajan, Anantharaj Uruthiralingam, Carlos Manuel Rivas

Publication number: 20190095907Abstract: A payer transaction device enables secure offline transactions using a secure element providing a secure payer account database, a secure ledger database, and a wallet application. While the payer transaction device is not connected to the Internet, the wallet application receives a payee identifier and a transaction amount and verifies that the transaction amount is less than an available payer account balance in the secure payer account database. In response, the wallet application creates a digital token that allocates the transaction amount from the payer account balance to the payee identifier, and records the digital token in a payer secure ledger in the secure ledger database, which reduces the available payer account balance by the transaction amount. The wallet application then transfers the digital token to a payee transaction device over a peer-to-peer wireless connection and, subsequently, the digital token is synchronized with a ledger tracking system through the Internet.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 26, 2017Publication date: March 28, 2019Inventors: Satish Narayan Govindarajan, Anantharaj Uruthiralingam, Carlos Rivas, Srikanth Nandiraju

Publication number: 20190087801Abstract: A system is configured to perform operations that include causing a merchant device to display a first visual code. The operations further include receiving a request to initiate a payment transaction between a consumer and a merchant, the request to initiate the payment transaction being transmitted to the system in response to a consumer device of the consumer scanning the first visual code displayed by the merchant device. The operations also include causing funds to be transferred from an account of the consumer to an account of the merchant. Further, the operations include in response to determining, based on one or more criteria, an occurrence of a code change event, causing the merchant device to display a second visual code in replacement of the first visual code.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 20, 2017Publication date: March 21, 2019Inventors: Satish Narayan Govindarajan, Srikanth Nandiraju, Anantharaj Uruthiralingam, Carlos Manuel Rivas, Gorantla Tejas Raj Vihar Reddy
