Publication number: 20240104062Abstract: Techniques are described for snapshot key inter-dependency resolution during cross-region replications. Dependency between a first type of replication-related information (e.g., crypto keys associated with a parent directory iNode or a file iNode) and a second type of replication-related information (e.g., files, file data/FMAPs, or symbolic links) during a cross-region replication may be resolved to enable non-blocking delta application in a target file system. In some embodiments, temporary dummy entries for the first type of information may be created in the B-tree of the target file system for the out-of-order download (e.g., the second type being downloaded before the first type) of these two types of information. In some embodiments, a consolidation process may be performed between the dummy entries and the later-arriving first type of information.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 11, 2023Publication date: March 28, 2024Applicant: Oracle International CorporationInventors: Satish Kumar Kashi Visvanathan, Viggnesh Venugopal, Vikram Singh Bisht

Publication number: 20240094937Abstract: Techniques are described for enabling concurrent and non-blocking replication object deletion during cross-region replications. In some embodiments, in a target file system, a target replication pipeline as part of a cross-region replication, and a deletion pipeline operate in parallel. The deletion pipeline deletes processed objects reaching the last pipeline stage of the target replication pipeline after each checkpoint in the target replication pipeline. In some embodiments, after a non-recoverable failure during the cross-region replication, the cross-region replication can be restarted from the beginning (i.e., fresh restart) without waiting for its unused objects in the Object Store to be deleted by utilizing a generation number associated with each object to delete the unused objects in a background process while allowing deleting processed objects as normal for the freshly restarted cross-region replication.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 28, 2023Publication date: March 21, 2024Applicant: Oracle International CorporationInventors: Satish Kumar Kashi Visvanathan, Ravi Lingappa Shamanna, Vikram Singh Bisht

Publication number: 20240086417Abstract: Techniques are described for enabling replication-aware resource management and task management in a cloud infrastructure for cross-region replication. In some embodiments, each replication job is associated with a set of replication-related information. In certain embodiments, the replication-aware resource management allocates resources, using a combination of various resource allocation schemes, to a fleet of replicators to allow the fleet to select replication jobs in a job queue, and perform resource scaling based on monitored performance metrics reported by the fleet. In some embodiments, the replication-aware task management enables replication job selection based on the set of replication-related information to optimize the performance of all cross-region replications in the region.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 14, 2023Publication date: March 14, 2024Applicant: Oracle International CorporationInventors: Satish Kumar Kashi Visvanathan, Viggnesh Venugopal, Vikram Singh Bisht

Patent number: 8248945Abstract: A method is provided for managing a transmit buffer using per priority pause flow control. An Ethernet transceiver generates packet descriptors identifying packets to be transmitted that are stored in memory. A priority is assigned to each descriptor and associated packet. Each descriptor is loaded into a queue having a queue priority associated with the descriptor priority. In response to accessing a first descriptor, output from a selected first priority queue, a first packet associated with the first descriptor is fetched into a transmit buffer from the memory. If subsequent to fetching the first packet, a per priority flow control message is received pausing first priority packets, the first packet is flushed from the transmit buffer. Then, a second descriptor is accessed from a selected second priority queue, and a second packet associated with the second descriptor is fetched and transmitted from the transmit buffer.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 2010Date of Patent: August 21, 2012Assignee: Applied Micro Circuits CorporationInventors: Satish Sathe, Satish Singh, Jaspreet Singh Gambhir, Sundeep Gupta

Patent number: 7907955Abstract: A presence information system reports proximity presence status to presence subscribers. The proximity presence status conveys how far an individual is from a phone, computer, or any other endpoint through which the individual communicates, how far the individual is from a presence information server which tracks presence changes, or how far the individual is from any other location, such as an office or a conference room. The proximity presence status supplements static presence states such as ‘Online’ and ‘Offline’. As a result, the proximity presence status helps to provide a more accurate picture of the true presence status of an individual. The presence information system may also track and report proximity presence status of mobile users. The mobile user proximity presence status may be derived from cellular position data obtained from a cellular service provider.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 2006Date of Patent: March 15, 2011Assignee: Siemens Enterprise Communications, Inc.Inventors: Jagjiwan Virk, Satish Singh

Publication number: 20090326384Abstract: Biopsy instruments are integrated with a multi-fiber optical probe adapted to perform diagnostic measurements. In addition to being able to analyze, treat or remove tissue, such integrated devices characterize tissue by measuring the amount of scattering and absorption of light transmitted into the tissue. Each fiberoptic probe has an illuminating fiber that provides a broadband light source for transmission into tissue, and a collecting fiber that collects the light scattered by the tissue and transmits the collected light to a spectrometer. One embodiment is an endoscope-mediated tool with a jaw-type biopsy forceps and a multi-fiber optical probe which is conveyed through a hollow central channel. Another embodiment is an endoscope-mediated tool with a jaw-type biopsy forceps and a plurality of multi-fiber optical probes. Yet another embodiment is an endoscopic polypectomy-type snare catheter with a multi-fiber optical probe located at the tip.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 18, 2007Publication date: December 31, 2009Applicants: Trustees of Boston University, Boston Medical Center CorporationInventors: Irving Bigio, Satish Singh
