Abstract: A biosensor for rapid quantification of a specific component contained in various biological samples with high accuracy has an electrically insulating base, an electrode system including a working electrode and a counter electrode formed on one face of the insulating base, and a reaction layer formed on the insulating base in close contact with the electrode system. The reaction layer contains at least a hydrophilic polymer, a buffer and an enzyme which is separated from the buffer.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for measuring concentrations of the first and second substrates in a sample liquid by using a biosensor. The biosensor has an electrically insulating substrate, an electrode system, and a reaction layer including a first enzyme, a second enzyme and an electron acceptor. The method includes the steps of measuring a response current value I.sub.1 of a predetermined period of time T.sub.1 after supplying the sample liquid including the first and second substrates to the biosensor; measuring a response current value I.sub.2 of a predetermined period of time T.sub.2 after the supply of the sample liquid; obtaining the concentration C.sub.1 of the first substrate corresponding to the current value I.sub.1 based on the previously determined relationship between the concentration of the first substrate and the response current value of the predetermined period of time T.sub.1 after the supply; obtaining a response current value I.sub.1 ' corresponding to the concentration C.

Abstract: Disclosed is a beverage container that is formed of a resin or wax coated cardboard or paper, and has a body portion and a gabled top portion. The gabled top portion is adapted for initial sealing at a seal therein, and subsequent opening and reclosing and has a pair of edge walls and a leading edge adapted to form a reclosable dispenser spout. The gabled top further includes a tensile force tab adapted to the leading edge and adapted to pull the leading edge away the edge walls to break the seal therebetween and form the dispenser spout.
