Patent number: 6715929Abstract: An optical multiplexing module, which is easier in adjustment of an optical axis, has an optical multiplexing element and a prism to change optical paths of input light. The module also has one or more input collimators at the input-side end thereof a single output collimator at the output-side end thereof. The optical axes of the collimators are adjustable by optical axis adjusting means. Further, according to the method of correcting the optical axes, after fabricating the collimators into the module, with an optical loss between optical parts monitored, an external force is applied in turn to a plurality of arbitrary locations around a joint portion of one optical part. This application allows a hit location showing a maximum reduction in optical loss to be found out. Radiating a laser beam onto an opposite-side location on the joint portion to the hit location leads to an easier correction of displacements of the optical axis with ease.Type: GrantFiled: August 6, 2001Date of Patent: April 6, 2004Assignee: The Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yasuhiro Watanabe, Satoru Abe, Hiroshi Matsuura

Patent number: 6470082Abstract: By using an external portable recording medium (for instance, IC card) that stores a personal ID, a communications apparatus automatically transmits the personal ID and its own terminal identification information to a center apparatus. The center apparatus manages the personal ID and the terminal identification information so that they are correlated with each other. For example, the terminal identification information includes a called-party address, a communication mode, and a position ID. Further, the center apparatus manages a present/absent mode for each personal ID. During the present mode, the center apparatus forwards a call using a personal telecommunication number, such as a UPT (universal personal telecommunication) number, which corresponds to a certain personal ID to a communications apparatus that corresponds to the personal ID. During the absent mode, the center apparatus automatically records a message.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2000Date of Patent: October 22, 2002Assignee: Nippon Telegraph and Telephone CorporationInventors: Ryozo Nunokawa, Hiroyuki Matsui, Satoru Abe, Yutaka Nishino

Publication number: 20010034790Abstract: Disclosed are a communication apparatus and a congestion regulation control method which flexibly and efficiently execute regulation control at the time of congestion, thereby ensuring an improved communication quality. Congestion monitoring means monitors a congestion state, sets a congestion level and determines whether or not to perform regulation based on the congestion level. Traffic measuring means measures the number of received signals as a traffic intensity. Traffic comparison means compares the traffic intensity with a preset traffic-regulation start traffic intensity when it is determined that regulation is to be performed. Regulation control means performs traffic regulation control when a comparison result shows that the traffic intensity is equal to or greater than the traffic-regulation start traffic intensity, and performs regulation control on a maintenance and operation process when the traffic intensity is smaller than the traffic-regulation start traffic intensity.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 31, 2001Publication date: October 25, 2001Inventors: Takeshi Sato, Yoshihiro Kawanabe, Satoru Abe

Patent number: 6061329Abstract: An SDH multiplex transmission system has a transmission terminal apparatus and a reception terminal apparatus that are connected to each other through channels of an N+1 redundant structure. The transmission terminal apparatus loads predetermined information that violates SDH standards into the overhead of an STM frame and transmits the same to a spare channel that is not currently used. The reception terminal apparatus monitors an STM frame received through the spare channel, and when the predetermined information in the overhead thereof satisfies a predetermined violation detection condition, determines that the spare channel is unused. The violation information is byte information such as H1, MS-REI, or STM-ID. As a result, the SDH multiplex transmission system has a simple structure to let the reception terminal apparatus correctly determine whether or not the spare channel is used.Type: GrantFiled: August 20, 1997Date of Patent: May 9, 2000Assignee: Fujitsu LimitedInventor: Satoru Abe

Patent number: 5549092Abstract: A system for controlling fuel metering in an internal combustion engine using a fluid dynamic model and the quantity of throttle-past air is determined therefrom. Based on the observation that the difference between the steady-state engine operating condition and the transient engine operating condition can be described as the difference in the effective throttle opening areas, the quantity of fuel injection is determined from the product of the ratio between the area and its first-order lag value and the quantity of fuel injection under the steady-state engine operating condition obtained by mapped data retrieval, and by subtracting the quantity of correction corresponding to the quantity of chamber-filling air. The effective throttle opening area's first order lag is calculated using a weight that varies with the engine speed, so that elongation or shortening of the TDC interval due to the decrease/increase of the engine speed will not affect the determination of the quantity of fuel injection.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 1995Date of Patent: August 27, 1996Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Yusuke Hasegawa, Isao Komoriya, Shusuke Akazaki, Hidetaka Maki, Satoru Abe

Patent number: 5540209Abstract: A system for detecting air-fuel ratio of an internal combustion engine by sampling outputs of an air-fuel ratio sensor installed at an exhaust system confluence point of said engine. A timing map is prepared to be retrieved by the engine speed and manifold absolute pressure to determine one among sampled data which are successively stored in buffers. It is selected such that as the engine speed decreases or the manifold absolute pressure increases, a datum sampled at earlier crank angular position is selected. At an engine equipped with a variable valve timing mechanism, a datum sampled at earlier crank angular position is selected in the valve timing is controlled for high engine speed provided that the engine speed and manifold absolute pressure is constant. The sampled data stored in the buffers may be transferred to another buffers at a predetermined crank angular position. The sampled data is corrected by an environmental conditions including atmospheric pressure, a mixture or sensor degradation.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 1994Date of Patent: July 30, 1996Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Yusuke Hasegawa, Yoichi Nishimura, Isao Komoriya, Shusuke Akazaki, Eisuke Kimura, Satoru Abe, Kei Machida
