  • Patent number: 5658835
Abstract: A glass-ceramic sintered body comprising an SiO.sub.2 --Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 --MgO--ZnO--B.sub.2 O.sub.3 type crystalline glass and alumina, said sintered body containing at least 10% by weight of a spinel crystalline phase; and a substrate composed of the sintered material. There is also provided a process for producing the glass-ceramic sintered body which comprises adding a binder to a mixed powder of an SiO.sub.2 --Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 --MgO--ZnO--B.sub.2 O.sub.3 type crystalline glass and alumina, molding the mixture into a predetermined shape, and firing the mixture into a predetermined shape, and firing the molded mixture at a temperature of 925.degree. to 1000.degree. C. in a non-oxidizable atmosphere. The glass-ceramic sintered body and the substrate composed of it in accordance with the present invention have excellent mechanical strength and thereby have markedly increased metallizing adhesion strength.

  • Patent number: 5440800
Abstract: A method of adhering in advance a soldering material to a location on each of a plurality of claw-shaped portions of a commutator at which a winding for the armature of an electric motor is to be electrically connected thereto, for ensuring a strong and reliable electrical connection between the windings and the claw-shaped portions.A plurality of narrow grooves are defined in the claw-shaped portions and the narrow grooves are charged with molten soldering material, which solidifies therein. The thus-solidified soldering material is thereafter re-melted by heat produced at the time of resistance welding of the windings to the claw-shaped portions to thereby reinforce the electrical connection between the claw-shaped portions and the windings and to prevent an increase in the electric resistance between the windings and the claw-shaped portions.

  • Patent number: 5313697
Abstract: A link rod of a wiper for a motor vehicle, comprising: a cylindrical section; a pair of flat sections formed at opposite ends of the cylindrical section, respectively by crushing the opposite ends of the cylindrical section from above and below; and a pair of resinous coupling joints mounted on the flat sections, respectively; wherein a first hole having a large diameter and a second hole having a small diameter are, respectively, formed at outer and inner portions of each of the flat sections as viewed in a longitudinal direction of the cylindrical section; wherein a gap opens into an axially intermediate portion of a peripheral surface of the second hole such that interior of the cylindrical section is communicated with a mouth of the second hole through the gap; wherein each of the coupling joints includes a joint portion disposed at the first hole and seals the second hole and the gap, and a method of manufacturing the link rod.

  • Patent number: 5266858
Abstract: An armature for an electric motor has an improved integrated armature coil body. The integrated armature coil body includes an annular and substantially flat portion projecting a minimum distance beyond one end of an armature core, the annular portion being defined by curved connecting portions of separate winding wires arranged and disposed substantially in the Archimedes' spiral relationship about the center of the armature core. Each of the winding wires has first and second straight portions extending from the curved connecting portions through different slots in the armature core and connected to a commutator at the other end of the armature core. Each wire has two curved connecting portions, one overlying the other curved connecting portion of a plurality of other wires.

  • Patent number: 4673838
Abstract: A brush holding device of an "easy-to-assemble" type disposed between a yoke and an end frame of a motor. The device has a brush holder formed in one body from an electrically insulating material to include an annular-type field winding fixing frame, a brush holding stay having a plurality of brush chambers thereon, each of the brush chambers having at least an opening on the side of the end frame, integral connecting portions annularly connecting the spaced brush chambers therebetween, an insulating plate member having relatively rigid body portions to cover the openings of the brush chambers and relatively flexible portions connecting the body portions therebetween, and means for fixing the insulation to the brush holders by deforming the flexible portions of the insulator toward the brush holders. The aforementioned annular fixing frame has a plurality of flanges radially outwardly extending from the outer periphery thereof by which the annular frame is circumferentially axially aligned with the yoke.
